Large Groups

If you are planning on going to one of the Secondary planets, (Endor, Lok, etc.) Be sure to go with a large group. Here are some tips on getting a large group together.

I am on Bloodfin, and have a great plan for getting together a group, which I will do as soon as I can get back on the game. These are the steps I am going to follow.

First, go to a large city. I am currently in Tyrena.

Go to the closest Hotel, go into the room with the stage, and type /waypoint to create a new waypoint.

Now, use Ctrl+P, and click the search tab. Search for Elite professions and masters, such as Master Medic's or Creature Handlers, whatever you think you could use on your trek.

Create buttons for Copy and Paste, by typing Ctrl+O and hitting keymap. I use Ctrl+Shift+C and Ctrl+Shift+V.

Send e-mails to the people listed in the box below, and who ever you would like to go with you. This is the e-mail I will send to the players:

--------------------------start--------------------------------

Hello, my name is Ayden Trodak. I am a

Master Scout, as well as a Pistol

Specialist/Novice Pistoleer. I am also a

level 2 medic and level 4 Artisan, and

Creature Handler. I own a house just

outside Tyrena and have a pet rancor.

You may be wondering why you received

this e-mail: I am putting together a

large group to travel to the Research

Outpost on Endor. The developer's have

warned us not to venture to this planet

alone, so this will give everyone a

chance to see the outer reaches of the

Galaxy. If you are interested in coming

please respond to this e-mail

immediately, and be at the attached

waypoint WITHIN THE NEXT 15 MINUTES!

Once everyone is at the group's current

HQ, (the Tyrena Hotel) we will form the

group, and go to the Starport to leave.

Once we have all arrived on Endor, we

will meet at the Hotel there, do a quick

head-count, and venture off to the

nearest Ewok village and surrounding

landmarks.

Details:

------------

-Be at the Tyrena Hotel, (see

Attached Waypoint), withing the next 15

minutes.

-You ticket to Endor will be paid by

you, so save around 700 credits

available. (We suggest buying a

round-trip ticket, since being stuck on

Endor is not going to be fun.)

-The entire trip will last around 3

hours, so make sure you have a large

amount of time to play.

Rules:

------------

-There will be absolutely NO PVP

DUELS between group members.

-To promote the above rule, no

players with 200 or more Rebel/Imperial

faction standing will be admitted.

-Keep all sales and trades private,

using only /tell's to communicate the

deals.

Note: To save the waypoint to your

datapad, right click and hit Save

Waypoint.

We will be leaving soon so please hurry

to the Hotel. If you have any questions

e-mail Ayden! See you soon!

--------------------------end--------------------------------

See? Make it sound official.

Now, once you send that to the Masters and the Elite, grab a few of the players around you.

Type /who and send the same e-mail to every name that shows up, since not everyone will come.

Now, go to the Medical Center or Cantina, whichever one you aren't currently in...and repeat the last step. Now go back to the hotel and get up on stage. One by one they will come...greet them by saying:

Welcome -name-, have a seat while we wait for the other people.

Then invite them to your group.

Try to get the players to sit in the chairs. It makes it much more organized, (and makes the meeting look like....a meeting.)

Once enough people are there, (wait for 15 minutes,) go over the rules, (e.g. No PVP, no trades...)

Go off to the Starport. (Make sure everyone is there.) And buy your tickets. Go into the landing dock, and wait for the Starship.

Once you have arrived at your destination, wait at the Starport for everyone in the group. This may take a bit if anybody is on a dial-up. WAIT FOR ALL THE MEMBERS OF THE GROUP.

Advise everyone to type /waypoint in case they get lost. Most of the outposts on these planets are only 100m wide, and everything is very close. So if one of the members dies, tell him to go to the medical center and heal, or send a team of medics to heal him, then bring him safely back to the group. Be patient! Go exploring, keep everyone nearby, and have fun. Afterwards, go back to the city to rest, get some dancers to entertain in the Cantina, since you and your group will undoubtedly have plenty of Battle Fatigue, then head off to the Medic Center, and ask the medic's in your group to help heal the others wounds.

Then I suggest you go back to the Starport, and head back to your home.

The entire trip will take around 3 hours, but will be plenty of fun, and is a great way to make new friends.

Please add your comments, or any other ideas!

Honestly its all in your game style and perspective of play.

I solo alot (I am east coast and play on a west coast server) but I generally meet up with ppl and we just end up grouping just cause its easier to heal (those last second heals will save your butt).

But yea Warning shot/ Pet tanks/ and Pher Darts (slows) or Adhesive Mesh (stops) are all great helpers to taking big guys down. Also if you mask scent you can get two or three good shots in before the creature notices you.

I think it's a great setup and hope more people come around to sponsoring and participating in groups like this.

If I ever got an email like that, I'm more inclined to join that person as they seem to really have there schit together.

Still being a relatively new game environment, people are afraid, unaware, or unwilling to join in group expeditions with people they don't know. It's hard sometime as well though, as with some people, they run amok attacking everything they see or have no tactics, and wipe a group out with there stupidity. That is why it is good to lay out basic fundamentals of what your group is about, and if you join, make sure to follow the rules. Anyone unwilling to follow basic guide lines, you probably don't want to group with any ways. I for one, will never group with strangers unless there is a fair looting/harvesting system as a good rule of thumb. Greedy players get groups nowhere fast. Anyone with tactics can solo the big creatures, but it is way more fun with a good group to wipe out villages, forts, and overrun large numbers of the 'big' creatures. I thinks it is also a great policy to be very honest about your characters abilities and knowledge. If your unsure about the groups tactics, or have never hunted where you are going, make sure to tell everybody. It will definitely help in the long run and help prevent 'incidents' when your on the hunt. We can never have enough talk about group advise and tactics!

Keep up the good work!

Well if your also going Rebel or Imp (blah) groups are the way to go, you can solo if you use Pet Tanks but thats no fun. I was in a group of like 9 and we went a kicking Imps in the A$$. I had a ball. I did get to solo a stormtrooper (kinda) in Deathblowed my partner and while he was cloning I was doing hit and run tactics on him with my Bowcaster (yes I am a Wookiee). Got like 1400 rifle xp off him but he incapped me like 2 times.

if I got that email, i would delet it before reading it...not to be rude...but thats just me.

Its too long...needs to be a bit shortened up..BUT..thats just my opinion. I like the organization and way you put everything in, but a lot of people will ignore it. Nothing you can do about it.

what about something basic:
