JekRendar
Hi, Could you please help me choose between Bounty Hunter Carbine Specialist and Carbine Specialist? I’ve read both stories from Los Angeles to Tahiti, but I can’t make up my mind. I have about 1/3 my Scouting Skills filled, and I just have to Specialize on Rifle, Pistol, and Carbine, in my Marksmen line. Originally, I was going to become a Squad Leader, so that’s where the Scouting skills came from, but because I like to solo, correction, I find myself soloing a lot, I can climb the Scout tree faster than norm. I spent the past 2 ½ weeks away from SWG and want to be a fierce PvPer. However, I’m a casual gamer/role-player and would like to now the FASTEST way to be a challenging opponent. Which would you recommend and why?
DuncanIdahoTPF
I am also deciding between Carbineer and Bounty Hunter. Carbineer sounds very strong but Bounty Hunter sounds like it could be just as strong and be a lot more interesting and cool. Can we get a bounty hunter and a carbineer in here to give us your opinions?
DuncanIdahoTPF
Well, Ive been watching Bounty Hunters in game, they are flippin awesome characters. I havent seen a kickass carbinier in game, but then again, I havent seen a lot of carbineers. At any rate, Im a novice carbinier, and Im fairly kick ass, although the BH's underhandshot is VERY good for pking. I think carbinier's have some kind of knockdown shot too, but I havent seen any yet. I guess there is a huge advantage over being a bounty hunter though: You dont need half the skill points for it. I suppose once Im a master carbinier, I may go for bounty hunter as well. A master carbineer bounty hunter would be very strong indeed. =O)
JekRendar
Thanks for replying, Duncan. Yeah, I'm about 1/2 up Scout, and I just specialized in Carbine last night. I'm still thinking about going Carabineer, or BH Carbine. Here's some numbers: It take 125k to get Novice Carabineer. (Only 35 Skill Points to unlock NC, 6 including the NC box). It takes 40k Combat XP to unlock Novice BH. (Assuming you get Master Marksmen and Scout.) I looked at some options I have: I could go BH Carbine/a bit in Carabineer and Medic. I could go Master Carabineer/Master Medic (possibly take up Doctor)/Master Elite Crafter (possible Tailor, DE, or Chef). Total XP involved: Excluding the XP I need to get Novice Boxes, it takes about 3 Million Carbine XP to get Master Carabineer. It takes about 1 Million to get BH Carbine, and I could put my Combat XP into the Special Actions line of Carabineer. Although, SWG isn't combat oriented: If I pick up an Elite Artisan position, I actually have a past time, and could make some money. A BH is about constant combat, I'm not saying it isn't exciting. Factions, and PvP I plan on doing a bit of PvPing, not right away though. However, I am eager to jump in. That's possibly why BH is so tempting. The powerful Carabineer attacks don't happen until you specialize, in the top tiers, for BH, you get them right away. What's your thoughts? Exar_reborn
Yeah Jek I'm just like you the casual gamer and roleplayer but I always loved watching the Pvp matches near the lifestones in AC it was great and I always wanted to become powerful enough to fight. But I think that like most games it all depends on YOUR skill. You could have 2 equal guys lets say both pistol. now you go to dual the one goes in full fury and just decides to body shot 3 over and over. While the other starts with a dive shot (at prone and more accurate) then healthshot 2 making the other bleed. Now most likely given their skill lvls the one who used dive shot will have dodge the first body shot giving him some time. But anyway Both are excellent for their gun class. The thing is with BH carbine your filling up a LOT less and you'll get less bonuses. But you will get a lot of abilities. You can go either way and still be great. DuncanIdahoTPF
BH Carb seems to be the quickest way to go. I dont look forward to getting master scout and master marksman, though. I am already a carbineer, so I will put a few skill points into that as I make my way to BH. Hell, the first set of skills cost 175k XP, and the first carb BH skill costs 150k... A lot easier and possibly more effective.
