Model Textures

I know I posted this already part of this thread but I really need help. Wedge? Rgoer?

Curious to know why the shaders show up on some of my models but not the textures. It looks fine in the 3D view of the editor but INGAME textures are missing. Now I have seen posts about other people having the same problem and I will quote Wedge---->

Some models have problems with their skins in MP. I don't think anoyone has found a fix for that problem yet, but including the offending models in your pk3 as if they were custom might work. If that doesn't, then you either will have to live with it or find new models, sorry. :p

Okay so lets try and fix this problem. There is always a solution right Wedge? I know Raven obviously did some silly things but I think the problem is overlooked somewhere. I have looked into assets_0 to try and find out what has been missed. It seems to me for the most part TGA's are the ones thatare missing for the most part. Is that because they wrote the coding wrong to reference the shader files? What would happen if I put the MD3 with all the textures into the PK3? Would that work? Or no that cant work...I thought Md3's reference from the main folders of assets? I dont know....ugh....

BTW A couple of models in particular are the stasis_tube from kejim and the drill from imp_mine

I'm sure this can be fixed!

Some-one redid the Raven's Claw ship model for use in MP so the textures showed up properly.

You might have to remake the models in Milkshape (or similar) and remove the shaders.

Still drives me insane trying to work it out. - I just want my MD3 to have tranparent bits on it!!!

Although I cannot say anything for MP (having never mapped MP) I can say for my own part (in SP) that some models, when used as misc_models show this symptom of loosing textures. When I replaced them with misc_model_breakables, they looked perfectly good in the game. One model of this kind of behavior is the rather big generator that is blown up in Kejim_post.

It might or it might not be related to this particular problem, but we must remember that misc_models are turned into map triangles in the compilation process, whereas misc_model_breakables are not. So, misc_model_breakables stay in as entities in the game (and thus may behave differently regarding the shaders / textures).

Of course this is just my lousy speculation, and I know absolute nothing of making md3s myself, and likewise I know nothing about the way the game engine behaves with entities.
