von Kluge
Does anyone know if this motherboard can accept PC3700 Ram or if not what is the fastest speed that it can go to? If no one knows can you please direct me to a website where I can find out? This would be very helpful. I want to buy more RAM, but want it to be fast. Right now I am running a PC2100. Any help would be appriciated. Motherboard- Microstar Socket 478 MS-6533GL Motherboard ltzing
Abaddon
woah odd board there... a SiS chipset. Normally, I would say that you should go to http://www.crucial.com and find out. Only problem is I wanted a second opinion. I went to the board maker: microstar international (MSI) http://www.msicomputer.com/product/detail_spec/product_detail.asp?model=MS-6533GL# it said the motherboard supports PC-266 only. cruical http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.asp?model=MS%2D6533GL&DetailMB=Y&cat=RAM said its supports up to PC-3200 (highest crucial sells) **I believe that is incorrect information** PC-3200 is 400mhz DDR SDRAM, only reason this came up is because you FSB is 100mhz x 4 = 400mhz Another source said it supports up to 333mhz DDR (PC-2700) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I wish people could post the same information. I can conclude that it most definetly does NOT support PC-3700 It could support PC-2700 333mhz DDR-SDRAM. Maybe even PC-3200 400mhz DDR. Sorry I could be more helpful, since the data is tainted I don't know what to believe.
