Haven't you at least spoken to people in your classes? I speak to people in my classes, and say "hey" when we walk past each other in hallways... but I wouldn't call them friends, yet. I did go to town with a bunch of them once, but that was because my college is IN town, and we figured we'd go for a trip to subway lol.

The second chapter of great gatsby was better than the first, but it's still dauntingly dull to read. I loved one paragraph of it, though, because it was just so poetic and metaphorical. The teacher likes me because I keep putting my hand up... and I don't know all this rubbish about "1990s America History" like a lot of my english class, but I can detect symbollism really quickly, and notice the significant yet small things that no one else notices. You could say I have an "imaginative approach" to english, whilst all the others have "logical approaches".

I thought it was hilarious in Eng Lit, when the teacher said "define ash for me" to the class... and this girl said it was a tree. yes... it's a type of tree, but in the book they were talking about "grey ash" which is evidently fire ash!
