  1. The end of the month is only sixteen days away from the launch of the game. http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=64673 The timing of a demo releasing at the end of August does makes since. Take a break from Too Human and hope they can pull this game off. With so much to play this year I'll be glad to get a demo of this one to try it out before I buy.
  2. They should use the offset engine to make Jedi Knight 4: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/6400.html http://www.gametrailers.com/player/8937.html http://www.gametrailers.com/player/22923.html http://www.projectoffset.com/technology.php Just kidding, the force unleashed engine would do pretty sweet for JK4, but they'd deffinatley have to improve the animations and swordplay.
  3. What we all really want: KOTOR 3. What they (EA, Lucas Arts, to a lesser degree Bioware) all really want: Money. Hence there will be a kotor mmo, because a whole load of people are gonna try it. And if its good awesome, if it's not hey i don't play most games for more than a month anyway. But rest assured they will conclude the kotor core plot. I hope...
  4. The original KOTOR combat system was great...The animations however where not. There should be tons of new and fresh animations so it actually looks like a lightsaber fight, parries and blocking, really cinematic. Have the power attack animation be very different and cinematic than, lets say, a flurry animation. However, don't have the saber strike and kill until the health bar depletes. Have more of a defense meter than a health meter, when the defense meter runs out show one of 20-30 different finishers (based on class, level, skills chosen etc.) I don't mind the D20 system, but they could make it a whole lot prettier. See Bujingai, a PS2 game that is very awesome, and very cinematic. (This is a twitch based action game that implements a defense meter.)
  5. I know its kinda far removed from KOTOR but the new sith wars would be awesome. Tons of jedi running around and a major galactic confrontation happening. Only problem is We already know how that turns out. (See http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Ruusan_campaign) This war lasts one thousand years though. Another thing that would be cool is if it takes place after the events of KOTOR and before the new sith wars. There is plenty of time there to come up with a new concept and bioware is creative enough to do this.. I guess it all depends on what lucas approves though...
  6. Because ryloth's day is equal to its year (it rotates once in the same amount of time it takes to go around the sun) one side is always night and one is always day. This would be an awesome world cause one side would be all hot and crazy (like that scene in Chronicles of Riddick) and the other would be a frozen wasteland... http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Image:RylothExodus.JPG http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Image:Kala%27uun_Starport_3.jpg This would be a sweet planet. Dang star wars universe has tons of planets http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Planets
  7. Should this game take place before KOTOR or after? Here is a link to the canon time line at wookiepedia..... http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Old_Republic_era
  8. I also watched the live Gamespot coverage, and they treated it like a real story. Seemed legit to me.
  9. Totally agree. I want a single player KOTOR 3 way more than a KOTOR MMO. But we should wait and see what direction they're taking this game in before we tar and feather BW and LA like an angry mob. Side note: We can totally lynch EA F**k them...
  10. http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3168664. At least they might include the other cities at a latter date.
  11. I can't comment on what planets for say, but would you want more planets with a little bit less on them (not as bad as Mass Effect) or less planets with more environments? Personally I'd like to see both. Have the stereotypical star wars worlds (hoth, tattoine, endor, korriban etc.) as your randomly generated, instanced dungeon type worlds, and have your major city, multi-environment worlds (coruscant, telos, corellia, onderon, etc...) as your richly developed city worlds/quest getting locations. (have side quests on the other worlds as well, just not as many.)
  12. What about a planet where something like this, http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Cult_of_Varn, can happen as an optional side quest.
  13. Yeah probably right... just have to wait it out and see what they come up with....
  14. I hope this doesn't replace KOTOR 3. I want to try a KOTOR MMO for sure, but i will be pissed if instead of KOTOR 3 we get KOTOR MMO.
  15. Forgive me if this idea has been posted, (I'm not trying to plagiarize anyone) but what if you started as a younger character and as you progressed through the game you eventually find out you are the son/daughter of revan/exile. There could be a total Empire moment. The cool thing is that depending on dialog choices early in the game (ala KOTOR 2) your parent could be either revan or the exile. Don't ask me what dialog cause i have no idea.
  16. If they treat this as its own experience and try to make the best MMO possible set in the star wars universe it will rock. I still want a KOTOR 3, badly, but this will be interesting to see exactly what this MMO is all about.
  17. Yeah it would be hard to have randomly generated generic party member NPCs drive a player centric story. but like i said in a previous post it will be exciting to see exactly what bioware is doing with this game.
  18. I feel this way also. While i do enjoy MMOs, i love SPRPGs. I want to experience an actual conclusion to the revan/exile plot lines, and this becomes difficult within the constrains of an MMO. It might be exciting to see what Bioware does to continue the story. If anything
  19. Why not have recruitable NPCs in the world, like republic or sith soldiers, jedi apprentices, or mandalorian mercs you can hire? You could have a party made out of NPCs in a MMO if the developer would do it. Who knows what Bioware has in mind...
  20. I'm optimistic that with the proper mix of instances and npcs the story/party system could be really sweet. And like you said it is bioware, they are innovators in the industry. Maybe with the Lucas Arts/EA money they will do something great. Maybe...
  21. Off topic but red faction guerrilla looks pretty sweat. So does Darksiders...
  22. Lets hope there a more developments in the next few weeks discussing this more. Hopefully we can see more about this after TFU releases in sep.
  23. Yeah I agree, they would be stupid not to continue with the kotor franchise. I still hope that this mmo sets the stage for a future kotor3. i don't think it will fail though. a lot of people will try it, and if it is a fun experience then it will succeed.
