Do you like my suggestions? I have more, but I doubt that it serves for something to expose in this forum.
I certainly do! Keep em coming
33. Umbrakinesis: passive power to hide in shadows where a normal human being would be visible. Supplement for invisibility in stealth missions.
yes! This is fantastic. Very assassins-creed-esque
those graphics look stunning. very different from the JK games in that regard, lol...
the video does not look like a star wars game though. they're using swords, if im not mistaken.
then again, i guess you never claimed it was a star wars game; for some reason thats what i was expecting though. still, it looks pretty cool! its got potential for sure.
...taking consideration of the AI, while playing at JA in Jedi Master, is still kinda easy to win against. the only challenging npcs are force users and specially Boss-lvl NPCs. making force power more powerful would make the game even more easy, that's how i feel.
as a matter of fact, on that point, i was actually thinking about making all the npcs a lot stronger if i were to implement any kind of super-powered force mod.
so hopefully that wouldnt be a problem.
Changing them to the extent that I indicated in the OP, yes. It could kill the fun factor. But I was exaggerating for the sake of illustrating my point. I wouldn't want to make those specific changes -- I just wanted to know if it was possible to manipulate the force powers in that way, so as to sort of customize the gameplay a little bit. Possibly make some TFU-esque force powers that look really dramatic and awesome... You get the idea.
In response to the OP, 2 and 6 could be good. 10 an 11 would be good for sure. 13, 15, 16, 17, and 18 would all be awesome. And 22 and 23 would be fantastic.
Looks like the source code is finally out after all, at long last.
EDIT: and before one of the administrators flags me for resurrecting a necro post, let it be said that new information has surfaced since I posted the OP and i am still curious about the original question.
i don't see them in your link either.
holy crap, this thread blew my mind. i cant believe lucasarts is finished. that hurts.
but the JKA source code going public is pretty awesome; its just too bad that its probably too late for most of the big-name modders to care. If they do, this could mean a big boom in the JKA modding community... if not, JKA will continue to die.
...but now we wont have lucasarts to make new games for us all in all, emotions weighed on the scale of logic and practicality, i am more sad about this than happy.
this part especially made me glum:
"That said, there were good Star Wars games over the years, including the X-Wing series, Jedi Knight/Dark Forces series, Knights of the Old Republic, Rogue Squadron, Battlefront, and others. The future of these franchises is obviously now probably dim."
the future of the Battlefront series is dim? that isnt something i ever wanted to hear.
I've never cared much for moddb, and their upload process is complicated, not to mention that the site is mainly meant for incomplete mods... but I just uploaded it here at jkabananas, so that download link might work for you.
hey yall. ive been thinking lately, since ive been getting better and better at guitar, that my pitch is getting better. i can "picture in my mind" the note that any given string on the guitar makes. when i whistle it and then play the string, the notes are the same.
so my question is... what would you call that? what is the action of "picturing a sound in my head"? its like visualizing but instead of using my "mind's eye" im using my "mind's ear". i am imagining a sound, not an image. so what would the word for that be? like an audial version of the word "visualize".
i feel like there is no word for this, but i think there really should be... and its tearing me apart inside.
Thanks! It's my first mod, so feedback is much appreciated! Constructive criticism is welcome too
i created a clone wars conversion mod about a year ago and submitted it to jk3files, but it was never uploaded. i forgot about it for a while, but now i have uploaded it to gamefront and the link is live.
so go download it, check it out, and let me know what you think!
ok, so we all know that jk3files is notorious for being a glitchy site, and it takes them forever to upload new submissions. well, i submitted my clone wars mod almost a year ago and it still isnt up. big surprise. so does anybody know of a good filesharing website for me to use instead?
EDIT: uploading to gamefront forums now. ill post the link in a new thread once it's up.
EDIT2: here you go.
i don't know how much experience you have with modding, so i'm just going to lay this out in baby-steps, as if i was explaining it to an absolute beginner. don't be offended if some steps seem really obvious.
first, you'll need to download Pakscape.
Once you've downloaded and installed that, open it up. The filepath you'll want to follow should look something like this: "C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\GameData\base\assets0.pk3"
Open up the assets0.pk3 file with Pakscape, and look for the folder called "strings". In that folder, click the folder labeled "English".
In that folder there is a word document called "MENUS". copy this, and paste the copy on your desktop.
Open up this document. Click Edit>Find on the toolbar, and type in "BLASTER_PISTOL".
highlight the "blaster pistol" line after "lang_english" and hit backspace. name it what you like. DO NOT change the top "blaster_pistol" after "reference". leave that how it is. only change what is in the quotes. make it DL-44 or whatever you wanted.
now, save the file, and exit.
cut the file from your desktop and paste it back into Pakscape, replacing the old "MENUS" file. Save the folder in Pakscape and exit.
that should work.
i will admit, JK2 had much more enjoyable single player levels. the atmosphere and ambiance that they offered were really immersive and the puzzle-solving factor was fantastic. so in terms of storyline and singleplayer gameplay, yes JK2 was better.
but in terms of gameplay mechanics, JKA blows JK2 away. no question.
jka is way more fun to mod than jk2... more flexible.
i mod these games more than i play them; i really only play when im testing out my mods... lol
Kyle is unnaturally hard on his sabers, he goes through them like pencils :>
ahahaha this made my day lol i can picture him breaking his lightsaber by whacking a stormtrooper too hard and just being like "aw ****, again? these things are expensive... damn it." haha classic
there is already a version of gorc and pic lightsabers...Anyway can you tell me how do I create skins? the guide that u gave me before was really usefull but for example gorc is a gamorrean but as you saw he is orange and is different from a gamorrean...can you tell me how do i create a skin then?
there are plenty of tutorials on that; basically it comes down to using GIMP to recolor the base skin and then replacing the file with your modified version. just google it youll find a good tutorial if you look hard enough.
the only download i know of for saberist 1.2 is right here at massassi, but that site is notorious for going down often and for long periods of time, so if you want the mod, pm me and ill email it to you or something. i tried re-uploading it to jk3files, but we all know how that works... that was 3 years ago; it still isnt up.
me. but you should download JediMod and the "saberist 1.2" addon for JediMod. its the best way to play multiplayer by far. saberist is easily the best multiplayer mod for JK2 ive ever seen.
nice! ill hop on that bandwagon. (ive already hopped on bf3)
^what he said^ if you delete any of those config files they generate with default settings when you boot up the game.
Can we recycle the thread into a kill-people-who-acknowledge-the-Yuuzhan-Vong thread?
heh, heh, heh... thank you. i heartily agree.
Things you like to do with the JA source code
in Jedi Academy
This would be cool
