  2. VERY FUNNY! Hmmmm .... I thought someonw qould still have one of those toys from Radio Shack !
  3. I figured out what it was.
  4. Hi, The server works but everytime I try to load a map other than ffa_bespin, It says cannot find file /maps/mapname.bsp. Is there a way to fix that? Bill
  5. Hi, Well, I figured out what it was. I decided to read the freakin manual. One line that is in addition to the 1.02 patch is that you have to copy the assets2.pk3 file from the game install. Once I got that working, BLAM! It came up! WOO HOO!
  6. I am completely at a loss. I started over from scratch and it is still giving me the same error. I am just about ready to give this up. Who made this update? I have not had a problem until 1.03 came out and 1.02 was working fine. Bill -- Ripping my hair out
  7. Now I am right back to where I started. If I change the map and in my command line I type : ./jk2ded +exec server.cfg +map ffa_besbin It does the following: (/usr/games/jk2/) root ./jk2ded +exec server.cfg +map ffa_besbin JK2MP: v1.03a linux-i386 May 15 2002 Initialising zone memory ..... ----- FS_Startup ----- Current search path: /root/.jkii/base /usr/games/jk2/base/assets1.pk3 (8011 files) /usr/games/jk2/base/assets0.pk3 (6674 files) /usr/games/jk2/base ./jk2ded/base ---------------------- 14685 files in pk3 files execing mpdefault.cfg execing jk2mpserver.cfg couldn't exec autoexec.cfg Hunk_Clear: reset the hunk ok --- Common Initialization Complete --- logfile opened on Tue May 21 08:59:12 2002 Opening IP socket: localhost:28070 Hostname: counterstrike.suscom-maine.net IP: 207.5.159.160 execing server.cfg Can't find map maps/ffa_besbin.bsp Hitch warning: 775 msec frame time Bill I am about ready to hang this whole project up. Ever since this stupid 1,.03 update I have had nothing but problem after problem after problem. Who made this update so I can email them directly?
  8. Whn running Jedi Knight II with the 1.03 update, I am getting a Segmentation fault when it looks like it is loading a map. Any idea what is going on? I am running FreeBSD with 256MB RAM and 30GIG of storage.
  9. I repatched the Linux server to the 1.03 update and when loading the maps, I am getting the following error: handle 1: qconsole.log ---------------------- 30936 files in pk3 files Loading vm file vm/jk2mpgame.qvm. Bill
  10. Still says something about a missing bsp file. What next?
  11. Hi, I run Jedi Knight II Server on FreeBSD. Ever since I upgraded to the 1.03 update, I cannot run Jedi Knight at all. It is now asking for a .bsp filename and my maps are ending with pk3. I am stuck and don't know where to go from here. I tried renaming the .pk3 file to .bsp and that didn't work and I didn't think it would. I got this for the following error code: ERROR: CM_LoadMap: maps/skyhigh.bsp has wrong version number (10 should be 1) Thanks! Bill:confused:
  12. Hi, I have Jedi Knight II running on FreeBSD and cannot make rcon work. Here is my server.cfg file on my machine: ----- start server.cfg ----- //PUBLIC INFO WILL BE DISPLAYED IN SERVER BROWSWERS SETS= PUBLIC INFO // Server Config seta sv_hostname "Suscom SaberFest [FAST]" seta g_motd "Don't kill people if their Saber is not out! You will be BANNED!" sets "Administrator" "Carnage" sets "Connection" "T-1" sets "CPU" "Celery K62-433" sets "Email" "w0ls0n@suscom-maine.net" sets "Hosted By" "Bill" sets "Location" "Bath, Maine, USA" rcon_password "MYPASSWORD" seta sv_maxclients 32 set g_maxForceRank "7" seta fraglimit "15" seta g_inactivity 0 seta logfile "2" seta log "jedi.log" sv_maxRate 10000 set g_allowvote 1 set timelimit 20 set capturelimit 20 set g_autoMapCycle 1 map ffa_naboo ----- stop server.cfg ----- So, I am wondering how to use rcon correctly in JK2. I tried rconPassword MYPASSWORD and rconPassword MYPASSWORD and it just tells me that there is no rcon password set and I have tried both //rcon and rcon with no luck.. What am I doing wrong and where is there a rcon faq? I looked at the Quake 3 rcon commands but didn't have any luck with those as well. Can someone help?

  14. I found it in the Ports collection. Thanks!
  15. Well, FreeBSD is a linux variant. Sorry about that. Unzipping a zip file in FreeBSD should be the same thing in linux.
  16. Great except that I dont have a rc.boot in my /etc folder. Is there a way to unzip files in freebsd with the .zip extension?
  17. My connection is 3mb/3mb and I would like to know how to make JK2 COme on on startup as a background app. Thank you for your time.
  18. I forgot to mention a few things. I am running on a Linux platform on a 466Mhz with 256MB SDRAM and 30GIG of storage. Any idea how many players I can run at the max? I ran 6 players and my PID CPU usage was only at 30% so I think that 18 players would be the max?
  19. Looking for the different settings you can use for the jk2ded filename. I want to be able to choose maps, I want Force Powers and also want to know if there is a FAQ.
