  1. What do you mean? It ships in just about 3 weeks in the US.
  2. Nope. And how would you get them off?
  3. Photos of the event: http://www.dougtabacco.com/album/?expand=0
  4. Full Throttle II was cut from the demo schedule, so we didn't get to see anything from it. Alexis said they didn't feel it was ready to show off yet. A&D was cool, though. We got to see a new weapon: one that launches sharks that pop up from underground and eat the enemies, alá Jaws. Dan even said they were trying to get permission to include the Jaws theme
  5. Okay, so bright and early tomorrow morning I'm off to San Francisco to represent AG at Lucasarts' summer press day. There isn't a lot of adventure gaming interest, to be honest. In fact, there's apparently just a new video of FTII. No Sam and Max yet I'll make sure to report back on how that video looks, though For anyone wondering, DJG will be there representing Mojo.
  6. Yeah, it seemed to me that Bloom was just there to play the pretty boy role and not to provide much int he way of actual depth. Still, I thought it was a really great movie. I've seen it 1.5 times (fire alarm went off part way through the first showing).
  7. I dunno, an LSL RPG could be pretty fun Brings a whole new meaning to the term "gaining experience"
  8. Jake's in San Diego for Comic Con this week
  9. Well, once LFN get the server back up, I'm hoping to be able to get the mailing list running again finally. The old server didn't support outgoing mail. So there's something extra to look forward to
  10. Trust me, Spaff has no need to fake signatures from LucasArts people
  11. Vader: No Arnold, I am your father. Arnold: Aaaaargh! [Hulks Up]
  12. Nah, that's not true, Neil. Otherwise I could make a movie called "Star Wars Terminator meets The Hulk" without fear of legal problems
  13. I thought it was worth following up the Katharine Hepburn post with news of another unfortunate loss. Buddy Hackett passed away yesterday at the age of 78. http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2003-07-01-hackett-obit_x.htm
  14. I played it single-player at E3 for about half an hour, and the graphics were amazing.
  15. By the time I got home from work, I was too tired to do much more than crawl into bed. Sorry
  16. You're thinking of Tim Schafer, with a 'ch' Is the game based on the book, by the way?
  17. Actually, it looks like I may be going after all. If I do, I'll take photos
  18. Probably because (I believe) Activision is their distributor internationally, and I don't think they'd appreciate LucasArts doing direct international sales and bypassing them.
  19. I also have all kinds of odd code bits lying around. Anything in use on my site's up for grabs if you want it (although I have no db available, so everything uses files on disk. that can be adapted easily enough, though, if you give me ample warning ). I also have some other stuff that's not on my site. When you get to designing, let me know what kinds of things you need and I'll see if I have anything already done you can use.
  20. Well, you can always e-mail me Where are you at, btw?
  21. PHP stands for (you're not going to believe this ): "PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor" It kinda reminds me of a Dilbert strip with "The TTP Project" (it's short for "The TTP Project") Anyway, basically it's a programming language that's embedded into regular HTML code and gets parsed by the server before being sent along to you, the end user. It lets you do nifty stuff like dynamic pages. For example, you'll notice you're looking at showthread.php right now. What showthread.php actually contains is a blank template for a topic page in HTML, with PHP instructions telling the server how to get the right topic from the database and fill in the template with it. The server does all the PHP stuff and fills the resulting data into the template, then sends the completed page to you. It's super-simplified, but good enough And Moos, I can help you with PHP and HTML if you want. Just IM me or something. Or, alternatively, if you're in a radically different timezone than me, I hereby volunteer Marek to answer questions Also, for the basic HTML tags, check out: http://devedge.netscape.com/library/manuals/1998/htmlguide/ It's out of date really, but the basics are still pretty much the same and t's a good reference. This MSDN article might also be useful to you: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/dnhtmau/html/beghtml.asp
  22. Aw crud, nevermind. I just remembered that Ofoto has me scheduled to work Friday night.
  23. So... anyone going to the Doublefine party? I'm thinking about it, but I'd hate to go alone, especially having never actually met Tim or anyone else from Doublefine.
  24. What you don't realize is that Tim has actually arranged for all the Doublefine mice to be shipped to Holland specially for your company to enjoy, since he won't be needing them anymore in his new office.
