On the page I linked to, there's a notation about where the lasers come out of the model.

"The shots will be fired from just under the 'red circle', which looks quite cool, I must say. stick out tongue If you have the original, this update is well worth it."

You might want to take that location into account for your skin of that model. BTW, the animations only work for the 2.0 version of the model.
