edit: I have something else for you to read! It's from Kierkegaard this time. ^_^

edit2: And that damn kant book is taking forever to read. Some of the things I really can't even follow, such as Kant's simply deciding that the idea of absolute necessity and generality is indicative of synthetic a priori truths... I really don't see how that works out. Supposedly he got that idea from Hume, I'll have to check it out-- fortunately I have his "An Inquiry concerning human understanding" already on my shelf. Also, I have some trepidation on this fixation with metaphysics being a science. I'm not sure if that's just the way they usually spoke back then, but from what I understand, metaphysics is anything but science. W, for example, thinks that metaphysics is unconcerned with scientific facts and methodology (as the nature of metaphysical inquiry is "grammatical", (i.e., what metaphysics is is not found in what is said about metaphysical things, but how they're said), and so "metaphysics as a science" would be quite a strange thing indeed. It would be like saying that there is a "scientific" inquiry as to whether bachelors are married or not.

Anyways, it's not very fun to read. I guess I'll slog through it though, because I DO so want to hate on those damned Kantians! ^_^
