  1. I think The Big Sleep and The Third Man are being shown on BBC4 here in the UK on Saturday and Sunday as part of their Noir weekend. This'll be the perfect time for me to check them out =) EDIT: My mistake; they're showing The Big Combo and Stranger on the Third Floor. I only glanced at the TV listing briefly the other day. They're also showing Farewell, My Lovely, The Lady from Shanghai, Force of Evil and Build My Gallows High among others.
  2. I bought Casablanca and The Maltese Falcon on DVD a few months ago based solely on the fact that Grim Fandango borrows from them. I hadn't seen them before then, and I rarely ever watch black and white films, but I enjoyed both of them a lot.
  3. I'm not really sure what to make of this Matt Smith. I've never heard of him before. I guess I should wait until 2010 to see what he does with the character. There wasn't much of a build up just before he appeared, so when he started talking about being the 11th Doctor, there was a long pause from me, followed by: "...What? Wait a minute; who is this guy, and why is he talking about being the 11th Doctor?" Then, it sunk in.
  4. *curses* It's gone! I forgot to save a copy to my hard drive too. Dang
  5. I've seen the first three (although it's been a while) and I thought Alien and Aliens were brilliant. Alien 3 was good, but not as good as the first two. I haven't watched the fourth one though, I've never really been bothered with it.
  6. I can understand an animated MySims TV series, but a live-action Sims movie? No.
  7. Me too. I like The Sims, but if there was a movie made about it, I'd ignore it completely. It seems like the only way to make some kind of plot is to introduce aspects to it that aren't present in the game, otherwise it'd just be: a Sim is born, he grows up, gets a job, has kids, grows old, and dies. The end.
  8. I found this a while ago and thought the same thing. I'm trying to visualize some kind of storyline. How about an adult male Sim's life is torn apart when his wife and child drown in their swimming pool due to mysterious disappearance of the ladder needed for them to get out? It seems they swam around until their energy bars depleted
  9. I remember I first saw this show on Channel 4 here in the UK. I'd watch The Simpsons on BBC2 then switch right over to it afterwards. They stopped airing it in that time-slot and for a while it was put on Channel 4 on Fridays at 1-2am along with Futurama and South Park. I used to tape them all so I could watch them the next day. I haven't seen an episode of it in years, but it's sad to hear it's being cancelled. I always loved the theme tune *searches for it on Youtube*
  10. I'd be happy with Nighy. At least with him, they might finally get rid of the whole idea of every companion in the new series (apart from Donna) wanting his Time Lord manliness
