First. Pray that your lucky enough to have a server that actually gets listed.

 

Second, get a descent connection. Nobody likes lag.

 

Finally, make it interesting. Keep the maps moving. INCREASE THE SABER DAMAGE SCALE (please). Don't be like some of these other Comic-Book-Guy-esque admins who cry when the lose.

 

Hope that helps. But if you don't get listed, it's just a waste of time and energy. Don't bother supporting a company that doesn't support us.

Assuming your server works at all.... give somebody the IP and ask them to join it to test.

 

If not, see the Server help sticky in this forum and in the Technical help forum.

 

You can post your server in the forums too if you want..

 

 

What I have to do is this:

 

Run the win32 dedicated server binary (JAMPded.exe, which is part of a zip file you can download from LucasFiles.com) and make sure the shortcut does this:

 

+net_port 29070 +net_restart

 

That makes sure you set the port to 29070 so it should show up on the master list.

 

Then make sure the JAMP.exe has this in the shortcut:

 

+net_port 29069 +net_restart

 

This makes sure it's using a different port as the Dedicated server so you can join.

 

Make sure your firewall forwards (or "opens") the following ports:

 

29060-29099 (UDP & TCP).

 

If you have a software firewall, make sure JAMP.exe and JAMPded.exe "allow all connections."

 

Now you just have to wait...
