_IVIeGaTI2oN_
Well currently, Jedi in this game are for show honestly. Their cost is way to high and they die rather easy to anything unless you get mind trick where you get like a few seconds to run before the enemy finds you. Now I posted this over at heaven games but that forum is so inactive its sad. Anyways here goes: Allow jedi to come in T2 at a rather steep cost and make them Padawan. Steep cost meaning more costly than normal jedi in this game. Also their HP (hitpoints) would be much more as it would be harder to kill. Anyways Padawans only have 1 skill as a Padawan which is Forcespeed which lets them run 2x faster for a short period of time and after using that skill it has a 30second recharge rate or something. Now as you kill enemy units with your padawan you can achieve a Jedi Knight after so many kills. With a Jedi Knight you woudl recieve Forcespeed, Convert on infantry units AND Sabrethrow which you would click the skill and click a unit and it throws its sabre at that unit. Of course you cant abuse it so that means ther would be time buffers and recharge rates. Now as you get more kills AND converts, you can upgrade to a Master where you achieve the final skill, Mind Trick which renders you invisible to everything for a certain period of time but once you attack you will be visible and the mind trick will have a shorter recharge rate then the other skills cause masters can be used for stealth attacks such as going into the heart of the enemy with mind trick then fighting and once the enemy comes which is like 15-20seconds, you can use mind trick to run. Also the convert option has now been upgraded to buildings/machines. Now the HP of all 3 stages would be MUCH more then the normal ones at this game currently. You would be allowed 1(or more if thers a way to balance it) Jedi at a time but their HP and great skills are big game breakers. After you jedi dies you can respawn him at the temple. Yes yes yes sounds warcraftish? Well with star wars and the whole jedi thing this can REALLY work. And it would add a whole new element and make jedi worthwhile and be the game breakers. Now onto the Sith. Sith would be the same with techs like Forcespeed, Convert and Mind Trick BUT instead of Sabre throw, they get Lightning which casts lightning at a target. Anyways this would really add a new element to SWGB2.

Darth Windu
Interesting idea, the only...problem...i have with it is that it seems to be too micro-intensive if you know what i mean.
_IVIeGaTI2oN_
Whats a little micro gonna hurt? Having a unit who you desire NOT to die is great cause it really gives you excellent control feel. Compared to the Jedi in this game and Jedi in the movie per say, Jedi in this game are just weak and expensive. To give them more abilities and more HP/Attack/Armor it would give a meaning to make a Jedi and have them as your main unit because they get stronger as you progress with kills/converts. lukeiamyourdad
Actually this depends on some factors. This kind of microing can be doable depending on the pace of the game. If you want the game to have a slower pace micro can(if well done) be a nice addition to the game. However if it's fast paced then it's just plain annoying and basically no one will use any jedi or sith.
_IVIeGaTI2oN_
I play Fast speed and with a substantial HP increase it would give you time to move around and not be so intense on your jedi that you forget everything else. the HP is all about giving you time. lukeiamyourdad
No no you don't understand. I'm gonna give you and example: AoM is a fast paced RTS. Civ3 is slow paced. In other words, a fast paced game would be like the RTS you know, and a slower pace would be a cross within turn based and RTS.
Admiral Vostok
I don't think _IVIeGaTI2oN_'s (is there something easier to type we can call you?) idea is too micro intensive. Comparing i to Convert, the only Force power we have in SWGB, it would be easy to just assign hotkeys to the powers. I know I always use "C" to convert, and I think most people do too. If there was a quick keypress to activate a power it is quite doable.
_IVIeGaTI2oN_
Jedi in this game have 1 option which is Convert which was mentioned above and can be assigned a hotkey so I highly doubt its tough to do. A-S-D-F can be from skill 1-4....easy enough. I know what you mean and for most players I doubt it will be annoying....you can make a certain hotkey to center on your jedi so you know where he is. lukeiamyourdad
No doubt it shouldn't that hard, but in the heat of the battle, unless Jedi units can litterally turn the tide of the battle by themselves(or himself) you won't think about using the skills so often except for converting. _IVIeGaTI2oN_
ok thats were a lil bit of practice comes in Now as I was playing Warcraft, given the fact its easier to control cuz of less units BUT....thers a hotkey for your hero and a little icon on the top left corner showing his HP and it blinks if he is being attacked. It serves a great reminder to keep tab on your hero. I press F1 to select my hero and then a combination of ASDF I believe to use wat skill in order from left to right....it takes very little time to do if you WANT to practice a bit with it. Admiral Vostok
Well I think that making Jedi like that would make them too much the focus of the game, when it is entirely possible and even likely that some civs will rarely use Jedi. While I think extra skills are good, I'd suggest making them like a combination of AoM and WC3 special abilities. This is sort of what I had in mind for my Jedi: They've got some powers that you can select to activate automatically (as in WarCraft III) and when this is the case they'll perform that ability whenever possible on the best enemy candidate (as in AoM). Other powers require more microing (though no more than a key press and click) but these powers are not ones you usually utilise in the middle of a battle, they are powers like Mind Trick (for Jedi) and Turning (for Sith).
