Darkmist Posted October 8, 2003 Posted October 8, 2003 Well its got: 32mb NVidia GForce2 Mx graphics card 512 Ram AMD Athlon Processor 951 MHz Windows XP Will Galaxies run without being choppy and laggy? If not what card should I get for the least amount of money that will allow me to play galaxies.
Cii Posted October 8, 2003 Posted October 8, 2003 That GF2 isnt going to do much. I suggest getting a geforce 3 or 4 and another 512 of ram (if you want to push your comp to the max). You're not gonna get 60 fps no matter what (swg caps at 29), 25+ if you are lucky with that 950mhz. I have a 900mhz 1 gig ram and a GeForce 3 and i get 13-20 fps in the wild, 7-12 in cities.

MFL101 Posted October 8, 2003 Posted October 8, 2003 I get about 35 FPS when it is really slow, normal times I get more. I never heard about it capping at 29. I have the following: AMD FX Processor Radeon 9800XT with 256MB 2 Raptor 10k RPM drives in a RAID 0 array 1GB of non-ecc Corsair memory Hmm, I am confused....could it be my benchmark software is off?
