gimps
I'm trying to get 2 PCs setup over a LAN connection using a 4port linksys router. the host pc works fine, but the 2nd PC keeps freezing at random times when playing multiplayer. Are there any tips or tricks to stop the freezes?
Andy867
It might help us better if we knew the specs of each computer. Like the processor, how much RAM, what video/sound card(s) you are using, what kind of connection (DSL, CABLE?), what speed the connection is, things like that, and also what Operating system is each system using. gimps
The PC in question is a 2600+ Barton CPU, GFX 5200 graphics card, 512mb PC3000 DDR. I am using onboard LAN and sound. Cable or DSL doesn't matter since I'm using a router to run a LAN game. The OS is 98SE.
Andy867
Are you maxing out the graphic detail? do you have the latest drivers for that PC (Video, Sound, etc). Also, did you burn a copy of the cd, own 2 copies, or use a NO-CD patch?
gimps
I have the latest drivers and all, since I just built the PC Friday. Details are actually on medium settings. I did burn a copy of the CD, but am using the original CD in the PC that keeps freezing. Would a no-CD patch be a better option?
