How on Earth do I actually use Scumm Rev and costume ripper?????

I know someone has probably brought his up a million times before, but now that I finally found a download link, HOW THE HELL DO I USE IT?????

I have downloaded it, unzipped it, installed it, opened it, but thats where I stop. I don;t know how to use them. The help files are corrupted.HELP!

Also, in ScummRev, the anotts file, with all the files, these were all open with. I opened it with Scumm Rev2, but accidentally checked the "always open with" box!! No matter how many times I delete it, ReDownload it, wipe it, throw stuff at it!!!!!!

Please help me. There must be a gaming expert out there who can help. I'm such a screw up.:compcry:

you have to open costrip from the command line with the name of the file after it... I think it was something like costrip.exe monkey.002.

Click Start -> Run

 

Type "cmd" or "command" and hit enter. A black box should pop up.

 

In here, type "CD <Costrip Directory>" - eg "cd C:\costrip\DXFULL\"

 

(Note, there are three different costrip "versions" when you download it - DXFull, DOS, and DXWin. DXFull works for me)

 

Now type

costrip "Game directory\ResourceFile"

 

(The resource files should be the files ending with the extension *.001)

 

 

So a full example would be:

cd C:\costrip\DXFULL\

costrip C:\monkey\monkey.001

 

or

 

cd F:\lucasarts\costrip\DXFULL\

costrip D:\samnmax\SAMNMAX.001

PS- Does it matter that I changed the anot files to "always open with" Scumm Rev 2?
