grrr pain in da bootay! mp skin problems!!

I thought it would be simular to jk2

 

But nooo... when I test the skin I see it like mapping.. missing the textures..

 

I did all that was asked as my own tutorial tells me..

 

But red or blue mode wont work..

 

Ok this is what I done..

 

model_default_storm.skin

and copied it for Red and Blue team.

model_blue_storm.skin

So if anyone can help me out..

I need to have my skin be the same for both team modes aswell.

okay this is going to sound like a stupid question....but you said you created new .skin files and named one for each color.....but did you change the image references in the new .skin files to point to the images that reflect the new colors.....i know this sounds a bit obvious, and maybe i am underestimating your knowledge.....but you did not mention creating new image files for the red and blue .skin files to link to......or changing the links in the .skin files.....

 

say in your model_red_default.skin file it is supposed to be loading legs_red.jpg.....and instead it is trying to load legs.jpg......

 

once again i apologize if this is a stupid reply, but i am trying to help.....

No, ya dont sound stupid.. honest I really apreciate yur trying to help me.

 

So I should just make copies of the jpg's and put red behind it and blue. Coz I want my skin to look exactly the same for FFA/Default as for teams.red & blue.

 

Well not exactly new .skin files I did it simular how I did it for my jk2 skins.

 

I got msn if ya want to see the files. I already showed the default on here. tis no secret hehe

well the way that this game loads different skins for the same model is the use of different .skin files.....if you open your assets1.pk3 file you'll notice that player models, have three skins usually....a model_default.skin, a model_red.skin, and a model_blue.skin....then they have the same images with the different parts turned red or blue named for the color for the red or blue.skin file to load.....then there are three icons one default one red and one blue to correspond with the different skins.....

 

for instance the model_default.skin looks like this(stormtrooper)....

notice the only difference is to the image link, which corresponds to the color.....hope this may help in some way

What's with the r_hand,models/players/storm+n/hand.jpg? Where it should have been -n, and it's not possible to throw on a Stormtrooper I.E. hood, or cowelbase, for that you'll need a totally new model... unless that I can't see why it shouldn't work... except maybe you'll need I.E. assets0.pk3/strings/english/menus.skin..
