Anach
Just wondering if it is at all possible to slowly turn your companions to the dark or light sides with you. Either by the things you say, do, or the side quests. I have noticed their Light & Dark goes up and down slightly as the game goes on, but what influences this? Eg, is it possible to convert Canderous to the Light side and Jolee to the Dark? This would be very interesting and add a new element to the gameplay for me if possible. eidospsogos
uhhhm.....from what i saw myself in my own games there meters will remain the same all the way through, and there is no way possible to affect the path they take. even if i am wrong for some reason(which i don't think i am) and their meters do change, it is not possible to affect their path. if you have already played through the game you already know the one character who's path is altered. that is the only character you can afftect in this manner. their meters are not affected by your actions. and oddly enough, unlike bg2, there is only one point in the game where alignment forces conflict to the point of battle. and you know of what i refer if you have played through already. anyway, enough of the coy talk. the only point in the game where alignment relfects conflict in your party, is if you choose to take your role as dark lord of the sith back from malak and take bastila as your apprentice you will have to fight and kill juhani and jolee. then upon returning to the ebon hawk, carth will run away, as will mission if you let her and don't make zaalbar kill her. if you make zaalbar kill her he will attack you on the star forge. then that leaves you bastila hk and canderous. but this is the only place where alignment really cause problems within the party, and your actions affect party members. your actions do not and will not, however, ever change the meter of your party members or affect their alignment in the way that you are referring. -NGE-
to be totally honest, I missed the really big light/dark side events. Sure, you can steal the wraid plate from Sharina Fizark, or you can enter the Tusken enclave and kill the whole lot of them, but at practically no point at all can you choose between giving in to your anger or mastering your emotions... jedi john
you can turn jolee to the dark side but it takes a lot of work, on the level ups give the light side jedis dark side powere and make them use them in every battle, this was each time they use a dark side force power they turn to the dark side slightly. but even with jolee totally on the dark side it has no bearing on his actions during the game. -NGE-
uhh the use of force powers doesnt affect alignments at all...
Prime
Personally, I don't really have a problem with not being able to turn others to the dark side. I am only concerned about my chracter, and I'd rather NPCs respond to what I do in their own way, as opposed to me controlling all of that. To me, that helps with the feeling that your actions have an affect on the world around you and those in it.
Anach
Id like to be able to see a conversion happening and their comments are relating to their Light/Dark side personality. Like HK wants to kill meatbags at any moment, and Canderous will comment if you are too nice to someone. Like Bastilla's constant nagging about your doing the right thing, she could be converted to dark side, especially after your relationship develops. Then she would make comments based on that. At the end, those who are dark and loyal would follow you if you are taking back your place as Dark Lord. Or vise versa. Like when you tell Juhani to kill the slaver, she should then turn back to the Darkside. As she has given in to her anger.
eidospsogos
yes but merely giving in to one's anger is not the darkside. it can lead to the darkside, but i hardly see one act in anger as a fall to the darkside. is luke skywalker a sith lord. he gave in to his anger a few times in the movie. just not at the one pivotal moment in the plot. after all, jedi are merely people(was going to say human, but there are humanoids as well ) and are not perfect. they have emotions, and though they control them better than most they are still there. one failed attempt would not make someone dark and evil. look at how much work it takes you to go to the darkside. Anach
Yes but in her case, she is fighting to come back to the light side during the game, after you meet her in the grove. So this and other parts in the game you should simply be able to say "give in to the power of the dark side" blah blah.. I played around at the grove to see if there were other options to choose other than telling her to go back to the academy, so she could join the party while remaining Darkside. Though there wasnt. The only choice you have is get her to return or kill her. No fun
