insane_pyro28
Hey I'm new here...I'm not really planning to be an actual member I just wanted to know...how do you create simple mods? I just wanna edit simple things.... Here is a list of the things that I'm looking to modify exactly... The background music (escpecially Manaan!) The voice of characters (maybe) Be able to change around what people say when talking, or most definately the options of what YOU can say...basically just changing words The texture of clothes, weapons, etc. Be able to modify the stats of weapons, items, etc. Be able to create my own weapons, items, etc. If anybody could just walk me through how to do any of these or has a guide or anything, I would greatly appreciate it! saxter2003
For information on modifying the music that plays in the game go to my thread here: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=122311:band1 As for changing the voices, we haven't quite cracked the files to do that yet, and to further complicate things we still need people to do voice acting when we do crack the file. Sorry!
gameunlimited
I thought the voice files are just plain mp3 files?
T7nowhere
First thing you should do is download and install Fred Tetra's Kotor tool(be sure to read the readme) here You will have access to almost all the the games files. Textures are in the ERF tree, to extract them as a tga double click any tpc file and a viewer will pop up then click the write button to save the texture. As for editing or creating new items if you do a search you should get a few good threads on how to do it. If you use kotor tool you can find the templates for any item or creature in Bifs > templates.bif(to view those files you will need to have a gff editor installed in the same folder as kotor tool). To learn what all those different files are look to Bioware This get you started.
