Kemuri
Hello everyone, I don't know of how much interest this will be, considering this mod doesn't bring anything new (in terms of technical progress) to the table. However, I'll still present it and see if it's worth spending time on. I'm thinking about creating new lightsabers based on Malak's hilt. These new lightsabers would basically just be a model swap for the old ones, but it won't replace them. This is more for the modders, as a template for any lightsaber mods they might want to make. This way, time won't have to be wasted duplicating hilts for each color. Basically, it's like adding another lightsaber class. For a visual example: Short LS Long LS Malak LS *NEW* Double LS It's probably a stupid idea, but I'm just curious.
T7nowhere
As for needing templates I just use the ones I have made and Change them to suit my needs. Adding a new baseitem class isn't a bad idea. It would only really be worth while if you can get Malaks saber to be Two handed without breaking any of the game functions. For example when I added a new saber to Baseitems.2da and made it two handed, Force jump would not work. If you can figue out how to do this then it would be worth to make a new class of saber. I don't know maybe people can live without force jump just with this new class of saber but I wasn't willing to bother with it unless it worked the same as the other sabers. This is more for the modders, as a template for any lightsaber mods they might want to make. This way, time won't have to be wasted duplicating hilts for each color. It would be worth it to make a pack of templates and a tutorial on how to edit the .mdl's and uti's For those that are new to all this stuff, I know there is a demand for something like that. So if you wanna do that, I know there would be alot of happy people and it would reduce some of the how to make a new saber threads

Kemuri
T7 --- Writing up a tutorial shouldn't be too hard. I guess someone has to do it. As for the Force Jump, what problems are you having exactly? Is it with the Guardian class itself or having the added feat not working? I guess I can try some tests myself and see where the gremlin is. On another note, I seem to have a problem editing the custom text for my color crystal. I tried modding the dialog.tlk file, but with no success. So instead, I just used KotorTool method. However, there's a white box everytime there's line break in the description. Perhaps it just a character parsing issue, but it's really annoying. Any comments on this? Criminal --- The .mdl files need to be converted to a readable format for a 3D software package like 3DStudio or GMAX before any model alteration or creation can begin. So far, I don't know anyone that has looked into this or even attempted to write a script that would disseminate the KOTOR .mdl files. A script exists for NWN files, but it doesn't work with KOTOR. If I had more time, I'd do it myself, but my day job gives me enough headaches as it is.
T7nowhere
As for the Force Jump, what problems are you having exactly? Is it with the Guardian class itself or having the added feat not working? I guess I can try some tests myself and see where the gremlin is. The problem is when I add a new saber as a base item, well thats not really the problem just doing that it will work it's when I change the saber from being single handed to being two handed. The strange thing is that if your char is holding a saber in both hands and I change the one in the on-hand to my two handed one. the char will still be holding two sabers(this way force jump does still work, but that defeats the purpose) even though in the equipe list it shows just the one in both hands. That will happen if there is more than one space in between the words and it will happen if there is an extra space at the end of the sentance. If you copy and paste something into it go down each line and make sure there are not any extra spaces. You should alway localize the text to the item. Useing the dialog.tlk is the hard way of doing it.
