Some Ideas ... I might need help with

First of all, I gotta say, this forum has been so incredibly cool and useful helping to add a whole lot more to an already amazing game.

 

Now on to my point. I'm trying to create a sort of uber assasination chick in my latest run through. Just kind of a formula I wanted to try out, that relies alot on critical hits and sneak attack bonuses to kill just about anything in one hit, or two if it's really powerful. But I've come up with a few ideas for equipment that would really fit this character well.

 

Now on a regular lightsaber with Nextor, Opila, and the full set of critical strike feats, I can get a very deadly critical strike to happen 50% of the time (11-20 on the to hit roll). But in this case, I'd like to try to create a lightsaber with an even larger crit range. I'd like to add the Keen property to the lightsaber, but I don't know if that stacks with the Keen ability I get from the Nextor crystal. Another option that I thought about was increasing the original threat range of the saber from 19-20 to something like 18-20. With all the feats and upgrades, this *should* give it a threat range of 6-20. I'd also like to increase the critical damage modifier to 3x or 4x, if possible. Bear in mind, this saber will probably not have any additional damage bonuses, except maybe in terms of more massive critical bonuses. The idea being that this is designed for assasination, not long drawn out fights, so unless you get a critical hit, you're not going to see it's full potential. ;)

 

The other peice of equipment I'd like to make is a set of robes with a REALLY high Max Dex Bonus. As you can imagine, I'm making DEX a priority for this character. However, I'm already having problems with my dexterity being too high for my armor. Even robes with a max dex bonus of +8 will be too restricting for this character. Ideally, I'd like Something with a huge Max Dex bonus, like perhaps +12. Possibly also a Dex bonus so you can definately take advantage of that, and maybe even the Uncanny Dodge feat so you don't lose that bonus. Ironically, It probably won't provide too much actual armour. I'm thinking of using the Dark Jedi Master Robes as a base.

Unfortunately Keen does not stack(so the best you get is 17-20, but you could add that property to the saber and use the slot for another crystal.You can stack Damage and Massive criticals. I don't think you can get the threat range below 17-20. EDIT ok ignore what I said about the Enhancement property it does not work the way I thought it did. {{deleted }} or you could use the onhit instant death property(kills on first hit, I think I have never tried it).

 

As for the robes. I have done a few tests and I think if you add a dex bonus to a couple of items like jedi robes and a light saber you can get what you want I have gotten a dex bonus on Jolee of +12 and on my PC +11. I think there is a max dex of +8 cap on the items, but equiping multiple items with dex bonuses does seem to work.

 

I sorry If that doesn't help you completely, But I haven't gotten much sleep in the last 2 days :( so im a little out of it. anyway that should get you started.

I second that idea... Tried for a while and must have changed half the 2das in the game (anything I could find that seemed to relate to levels, experience, etc) and never found a way to get it to work.

 

I'm aware that the savegame editor probably does it, but that's not really the solution I'm after. I'd much rather be able to just level up normally, but to a higher level than 20 (especially because of the forced multiclass bit).

The good news is I figured out a way to make the major criticals lightaber. All I had to do was simply edit the baseitems.2da and add what I call an 'assasin lightsaber' item to the list. You can set the crit range and multiplyer there, then all I had to do was change the base type to the new item number on my lightsaber's uti file. I even added some more feat prerequisites so that you had to have critical strike in order to use it. :D

 

I thought about putting in the instant death ability on the item, but I decided against it since that would be no fun. I'd rather the damage be caused by massive amounts of critical damage then an automatic kill like that.

 

So far the lightsaber seems to work great, and I'm sure I can do something simmilar with the robes as well! However I have noticed a problem. For some reason, the lightsaber I create no longer uses the dexterity modifier for the attack bonus, no matter what I do it seems to use the strength modifier all the time. For this style of saber, this obviously just won't cut it (no pun intended). Does anybody know how to make it so it uses the dexterity bonus again?

 

While we're on the subject, I tried to give the saber a simple attack bonus but it doesn't seem to work at all. It will display the proper attack bonus on the item's properties, but when you equip it it doesn't actually apply the bonus to your attack.
