I want to start modding, but I want to start with the small stuff e.g. combine various mods into one mod etc. So I want to ask you to help me on how to edit the appearance.2da, heads.2da, and portrait.2da files. What tools would I need and how would I use it to do the editing.

Those threads cover the majority of it. 2da editing is really fairly simple once you've got kotor_tool and open a few up and look at them.

 

But if you're still stuck, give a holler and we'll see what we can do. Don't forget - whenever editing 2da files to remember to save them as 2da again in the OVERRIDE folder. The editor doesn't keep any changes you make unless you specifically save.
