AJL
I haven't played Jedi Academy for long time but now I tried to make game again... And now I remember why I stopped playing... Reason was that My servers don't show up in game lists... (not in internal browser and not in GSA) which means that I can't just host game and hope that someone joins... No no I have to find some players first and give them my IP adress... (and soon I am very bored to this damn...) Or no.. I am already very boder and annoyed! Is there some known FIX for my problem or should I just forget this game for now... again... ?
Crow_Nest
First are you running a dedicated server? If not that may be the reason why your server is not showing up on the server list.
AJL
Dedicated or not... makes no difference... Server works/exists but peoples just can't see it... (exept if it is in their favourites)
Quoffa
I have the exact same problem! I create a Dedicated Server, but my friends say they can't see it on the list. Anyone know why?
Kurgan
First get the 1.01 patch if you haven't already. Without this you're out of luck since most people won't ever see it. Second, open up some ports on your firewall/router. This is the range you may need (some say you need fewer than this, but this is what I had to do to get mine working): 29060-29099 (UDP & TCP). Most of the time there will also be an advanced option in your router/firewall setup to set a "DMZ" which is the IP address of your router and turn it "On." I have an ActionTec DSL gateway and with it I simply type in my internal IP address in IE and then I have my setup menu. You may have a different setup, but the point is, it should be configurable unless you're at school or work or something. And if you have a firewall, again, give it "full permissions" for Jamp.exe and jampded.exe and things should be well. If it's dedicated then it should appear on the list... Kurgan
Originally posted by Quoffa Um, I have Jedi Outcast..... If you have Jedi Outcast, the advice is the equivalent. 1) Get the official 1.04 patch installed (and make sure all your friends have it too). 2) Open ports 28060-28099 (TCP&UDP) on your router/firewall Get New List. Refresh List. It should be showing up. Adjust your in-game browser filters until you see all the servers and it should be among them. Now of course if you are hosting a server on your home computer YOU will likely only see it listed in "Local" but your friends should see it on the main list if they have their game setup properly. One last thing I could think of.... your profile says you're from Finland correct? I'm assuming your friends live close by (ie: they aren't on the other side of the world on dialup or something). Because the in-game server browser will filter out pings that are too high (I forget if it's 600, 800 or just anything above "999"). If you're on dialup, chances are you just can't be hosting. Have the person with the fastest connection (broadband or a rented server) host and the rest join. Ask your friends how THEY host their games and maybe you can compare notes. PhantomXtreem
I have the same problem with Jedi Academy. But in my case people can’t see my dedicated server even if it’s in their favourites… I can see it only as Local and through Game Spy only if it’s in my favourites. I’m using Windows XP and don’t have any firewall software except the standard that comes with Windows XP and I do have a router “Netgear – Wireless router” and a broadband. Can you please give me instructions on how to open some ports? Thanks in advance… PS. I really need this server up and running soon, it’s a clan server…

In my case (Everyone) who have tried to add my IP in to their favourites have been able to do so and then join my game (and if its dedicated or not doesn't makes difference)
