trifix Posted May 24, 2004 Share Posted May 24, 2004 Thought i play through the game again only find out that i get some really strange performance issues. No matter WHAT setting i get about ~5fps when my lightsaber touches/go through walls/crates......whatever leaves a "burnt" mark after it. Even with all settings to lowest and or off i still get the same FPS drop. Same thing happens when i swing it. The fps stutters for a few frames EVERYTIME i swing it. Otherwise it runs great. Could it be the GFX drivers that need to be downgraded to 3.6 or whatever the game shipped with ? I remember having issuses with some game (can't remember if it was this game) and was forced to downgrade the driver to make playable.... Kurgan Posted May 25, 2004 Share Posted May 25, 2004 Go into the setup menus in the game and tell us what all options you have set for graphics in JA... That might help. Also what version of DirectX are you using? If you provide those settings and such we can help you tweak it. I'd suggest running the "system analyzer" program that comes with the game, and run ALL the tests. See if it gives you an failures or shows any old drivers. That might provide some other useful info. Like i said in the original post i have turned EVERYTHING off and set all things to the lowest possible setting. Tried all resolutions from 640*480 to 1152*864 Tried changing from 32bit to 16 bit also on both texture quality and colordepth. My DirectX version is the latest 9.0b AA and AF is OFF in the ATI controlpanel. (never use it) All other drivers are the latest..... Working my way up again to the highest settings (testing what could be the problem) only to find out that its working like a charm now. Now THAT'S strange don't you think ?
