graves
I mentioned this awhile back but i never really got a fix for it so... I'm having trouble generating a working .skin file after exporting from 3dsmax6 and compiling in assimilate. I have "make EF1-type .skin file" checked before I hit build and sure enough, it creates a .glm and .skin file... But the problem the .skin file is totally blank! I tried screwing around with the exporter options but none of it helps. I never had this problem using 3dsmax4... Has anyone come across this? Anavel Gato
Never had that problem. But I always create a .SKIN file manually in Notepad. Is not even 5 minutes work and has never failed besides the occasional typo
graves
thats what i ended up doing:p I'd still like to get this problem corrected tho... Until then, I guess I'll be doing it the long way.
CortoCG
Check that the export the custom psets is ticked. The thing is, 3dsmax doesn't use custom parameter sets like softimage, so the exporter plugin makes them up from the material editor or something. The .skin file is created from the data stored as custom parameter sets in the .xsi file.
graves
I'm not sure where to find that. I didn't see it on the export settings popup.
CortoCG
If you're talking about Raven's dotXSI plugin, then look for something called custom pset or alike.
