Dagobahn Eagle
I found this to be very enlightening: 59 deceits in F-9/11 I found this very enlightening: 184 reasons why the Earth's a purple coconut. I never bothered to look over the facts, but hey, this page says so, so you can't disprove it! Seriously, though: That's a document that's widely known to be false. Already at first glance, though, you'll see a couple of things amiss: First of all, he does not list sources. Why on Earth not? If his evidence is so compelling, his sources should be likewise, right? Without sources, though, there's nothing to back up his report, and you're left you wonder where he got the information from. Second, the article has many misleading and/or totally wrong points. I use as an example #56, which states that congressional families are more likely to have children serving in Iraq than other families". Well, then again, that doesn't take much. Since Congress is so small, it takes only a few soldier sons and soldier daughters of Congressmen and Congresswomen to bring the percentage over that of the representation of "non-Congress families". pa·tri·ot·ism n. Love of and devotion to one's country. --Dictionary "dot com". What's "Patriotism" got to do with prisoner abuse? I call stopping abuse "justice", not "patriotism"... and the fact that you, as you said, do not know why he -apparently- didn't do anything, just proves that you're being prejudiced. "Patriotism" is love of your home land. "Devotion to your country" is doing what's right to your country (not necessarily what your government wants you to do). Oh, and I e-mailed David "59 deceits" Kopel about the official stance of the University. I got this reply from him personally the same day: The Independence Institute really does not have "official stances" on anything. As the typical paragraph at the end of our documents states, Independence Institute writers speak for themselves. Obviously the Institute is supportive of my work, and has helped to promote my Fahrenheit report. Best wishes, Dave Kopel Just out of interest.
