Mapping in Jedi Academy (HELP, PLEASE!!!)

Okay. I want to make a map for Jedi Academy. I know exactly what I want it to look, and sound like, but I know nothing about mapping. I need to know a few things.

First off, what kind of software do I need? If you have a link to a download, please provide it.

Also, what are good tutorial sites? I want to know them all, wether it has to do with sound, or lighting, or textures, or anything at all.

I'm really lost on how to do this stuff. Help is greatly appriciated!

Thanks!!!

First, search here and other forums first, it has helped me a lot.

You need GTKRadiant which you can get from their official website or JK3files.com

Here are some good resource websites.

This one is also a good well known one.

JK3 is based off the Quake3 Engine, so was JK2. You can read tutorials on Quake3 mapping and JK2 mapping and it will pretty much be the same.

Biggest suggestion that I have is read, search, experiment, read, search and search. Don't post here unless you don't understand what was said or you can't find what you are looking for. Most of the time (For me anyways) you can find the answer to your problem just by doing a simple search with keywords.

Take your time and put effort into your map, nothing like releasing a half finished map that has sloppy work. You'll be glad you spent more time on it when you finish. :)

I'll say that too except much more rudely. SEARCH BEFORE YOU POST! Basically we've covered this god knows how many times, there are links everywhere to everything you need to know then failing that you have Google that despite what most people say will give you exactly what you want if you put some effort into your query and don't give in after one search.

/End Rant.
