Ginger1979 Posted August 19, 2004 Share Posted August 19, 2004 I have recently aquired an old PC, formatted the hard drive and installed Win95 from CD. I can install both Curse and Direct X without errors (it says certified against everything when I check the DirectX) but when I try to launch the game it goes to a very dark screen (I thought it was just black until I changed the brightness settings!). There is an error on the screen: Cannot create Direct Sound Object (-2005401480) Terminate application? Whether I choose Yes or No it kicks me out back to Windows. Ever seen this before? Joshi Posted August 19, 2004 Share Posted August 19, 2004 Is it not possible for you to aquire a PC with Windows XP. By all rights, it should work on win 95, or 98 (incfact, try Win 98), but at least with XP, we have some surefire ways of getting it working.
