MightyAvalanche
Hello! I'm new to this forum and started with the "stickies" for modding. I downloaded the KotOR Tool (Version 1.0.1728.20772 Released on 9-24-2004). When I start the program, however, I get the following error message (ready?): See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box. ************** Exception Text ************** System.ArgumentNullException: Path cannot be null. Parameter name: path at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, Boolean useAsync, String msgPath, Boolean bFromProxy) at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize) at kotor_tool.clsChitinKey..ctor(String KeyPath) at kotor_tool.frmMain.Form1_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Form.OnLoad(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Form.OnCreateControl() at System.Windows.Forms.Control.CreateControl(Boolean fIgnoreVisible) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.CreateControl() at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmShowWindow(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ScrollableControl.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ContainerControl.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Form.WmShowWindow(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Form.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ControlNativeWindow.OnMessage(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam) ************** Loaded Assemblies ************** mscorlib Assembly Version: 1.0.5000.0 Win32 Version: 1.1.4322.2032 CodeBase: file:///f:/windows/microsoft.net/framework/v1.1.4322/mscorlib.dll ---------------------------------------- kotor_tool Assembly Version: 1.0.1713.15070 Win32 Version: 1.0.1713.15070 CodeBase: file:///F:/Documents%20and%20Settings/[user name]/My%20Documents/Mod%20Shop/kotor_tool_v1.0.1713.15070/kotor_tool.exe ---------------------------------------- System.Windows.Forms Assembly Version: 1.0.5000.0 Win32 Version: 1.1.4322.2032 CodeBase: file:///f:/windows/assembly/gac/system.windows.forms/1.0.5000.0__b77a5c561934e089/system.windows.forms.dll ---------------------------------------- System Assembly Version: 1.0.5000.0 Win32 Version: 1.1.4322.2032 CodeBase: file:///f:/windows/assembly/gac/system/1.0.5000.0__b77a5c561934e089/system.dll ---------------------------------------- System.Drawing Assembly Version: 1.0.5000.0 Win32 Version: 1.1.4322.2032 CodeBase: file:///f:/windows/assembly/gac/system.drawing/1.0.5000.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/system.drawing.dll ---------------------------------------- Microsoft.VisualBasic Assembly Version: 7.0.5000.0 Win32 Version: 7.10.6001.4 CodeBase: file:///f:/windows/assembly/gac/microsoft.visualbasic/7.0.5000.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/microsoft.visualbasic.dll ---------------------------------------- System.Management Assembly Version: 1.0.5000.0 Win32 Version: 1.1.4322.2032 CodeBase: file:///f:/windows/assembly/gac/system.management/1.0.5000.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/system.management.dll ---------------------------------------- System.Xml Assembly Version: 1.0.5000.0 Win32 Version: 1.1.4322.2032 CodeBase: file:///f:/windows/assembly/gac/system.xml/1.0.5000.0__b77a5c561934e089/system.xml.dll ---------------------------------------- lpndzaug Assembly Version: 0.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 1.1.4322.2032 CodeBase: file:///f:/windows/assembly/gac/system/1.0.5000.0__b77a5c561934e089/system.dll ---------------------------------------- ************** JIT Debugging ************** To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this application or machine (machine.config) must have the jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section. I don't know if this has an affect on things, but my HD letter is F. Does the KotOR tool search drive C by default? If so, could this be changed? Or did I just miss something completely? Post pack if you need anymore information pertinent to solving this. Thanks for your help in advance.

Well I have it on C, could be why, I honestly don't know, you should try PMing Fred Tetra. And I must say, to read the stickies first, and to provide so much information on your problem (rather than saying "help me my kotor tool is broekn how do I fix it?!"), you've definitely got my respect, and most likely Prime's as well. Thanks! More than likely that is what I'll do after tomorrow. I figure I'm posting on the weekend, and at the time I posted there were only about 50 viewings of my post with only 3 (now 4) responses (two of them mine). I might see if there is something I can tinker around with until then.
