abcdow
Help Me Please! How are you able to retexture using the colour black, or to have black as the outcome colour? I'm using Adobe Photoshop 5.0.2. Also creating copper and gold would be nice? Maybe the Photoshop Master could help?

Glamador
i believe he wishes to know how to texture something in a black color...since when u use the Color and Hue modes it refuses to do anything but grey...once u've got it grey just switch to "Overlay" mode and color it black with that
Achilles
Well, I've only been using Photoshop for a couple of months, but here's what I bring to the table: Extract your texture Open it in Photoshop Right click on your Background image in the Layers window and create a duplicate layer. Select the duplicate. Use Ctrl+Alt+U to desaturate your image. Use the Hue/Saturation setting to adjust the Lightness to your desired level of darkness. Save. I'm no photoshop master, but I have used the steps outlined above to do some pretty cool stuff. I hope this helps.
svösh
Extract your texture Open it in Photoshop Go to layers click your background layer Ctrl+ J = duplicate your target layer Shift + Ctrl + U = desaturate your duplicate image Ctrl+ L = levels use the top set of sliders shadows [ black ]on the left, mid tones [ gray ]in the center, and highlights [ white ] are on the right If you use Ctrl+ U hue /saturation you won’t get the crispness you want on a black texture there has to be some intense light tones to it or it really won’t show. This is where levels comes in, to define the hard edges and make your highlights standout. Brightness / contrast is effective but you loose detail fast , levels is your best bet Any other questions I’ll be happy to give you a hand, if you want we can take this to pm svösh
