Save my sound!

This is kind of an odd problem but I'm hoping someone could help me with it...

 

Battlefront works flawlessly on my computer EXCEPT for the sound.

 

Whenever I shoot a gun or hear a laser blast it ALWAYS has a delay of one second after it happenes in the game (i.e. I shoot a blaster, the laser bolt flies out of the gun, 1 second later the shooting sound starts). Also, even on maximum volume output, the sound is very very soft while playing while my other applications' sound just fine. This is getting to be very very annoying. I have a 3.2 ghz computer with DirectX 9.0c and a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum (with drivers updated yesterday). I've already tried playing with the hardware acceleration slider in my XP sound settings with no luck.

 

Any chance anyone has any ideas how to fix this?

Have you tried changing the sound options? You have options for multiple surround, stereo and mono I believe.

I noticed the game seems quieter than most as well.

i have the Audigy2 Platinum and no problems; i setted to 7.1 (6.1 effective with creative 6.1 mediaworks) sound+EAX effects+hardware control, and no delay.

I have had the exact same problem. if anyone knows a solution, that woudl be great. I got my latest/greatest video card/dx9 drivers installed.

Yes, I've tried pretty much every combination of in-game sound options.

i unplugged my headphones and switched the sound setting to stereo, worked perfectly afterthat

Same problem here too and looking for a solution. Is it just a bug in the game or is it specific to my SBLive sound card?
