spectator
not really, imo ... the flight characteristics are nothing like BF:1942 or BF:V as hybrid sims, or anything like X-Wing or Tie Fighter series ... you should be fine, I personally just bump up the vehicle sensitivity for my mouse and it's like playing a true 3d FPS
pat_thetic
What are they like then? Those are the only 2 really different flight style, arcadey and sim.

chrishaolin
cokblock, the flying physics is in need of alot of improvement, so personally, i don't even jump into anything that would require a joystick, so i cant say... try it out for yourself with keyboard and see how it feels before you go out and buy a joystick. It's pretty simple to use the ole keyboard and mouse. Unless a new patch changes it, I hardly see the need for a joystick. However, if you are interested in a joystick the best bang for your buck is the Logitech extreme3DPro for under $20. Just use pcworld.com product finder to find the best buy.
