Question about AT-AT

I havent played SW BF yet but I been wondering,if you find yourself being cable-towed by a snowspeeder and your legs are totally ****ed up,but you stop walking,will you die anyway?

 

Ok it might die,but its not realistic that they do because if you dont walk anymore your legs dont go loose
