background image burning to screen

I am having problems with the grafics. I can play okay for the first couple of minutes, but then, where ever I am at the time, the image stays, I can still play, but there is always that dim picture frozen in the background. It makes it nearly impossible to keep playing successfully, as it gets in the way.

I'm running on a dell inspiron 600m with a radeon 9000 64 mb video card and a 1.4 ghz processor. Please help
