90SK Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 I'm not sure where to post this thread since it kind of falls under two categories. I'm having a problem with Gmax where I can't seem to export my model. They're are no sanity errors, I just click "export" and the screen kind of shakes. This usually means the model has been exported. When I go into the designated export folder, nothing is there. I have been confering with Bneezy about this problem and we both draw blanks. Does anyone know whats wrong?
90SK Posted October 23, 2004 Author Posted October 23, 2004 And it doesnt seem to effect the other models. I tried exporting a lightsaber I (attempted) to port, and it exported just fine.
Mono_Giganto Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 I've been having this same problem actually, I fixed it somehow.... Did you link your model to the base?
90SK Posted October 24, 2004 Author Posted October 24, 2004 Yes, I believe so. No error screens show up when I export. I linked everything to everything, just to be sure.
cchargin Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 Hello, If you want to you can e-mail me your gmax file and I will take a look at it. You can get my e-mail address from the readme of MDLOps.
cchargin Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 Hello, I took a look at the files you sent me and it is as I expected, it is a linking problem. Your 2 meshes are not linked to the aurora base object. I would suggest making one mesh the parent of the other then linking the parent mesh to the aurora base. like this: torso_cowe child of head head child of i_mask_020 (this is the aurora base) Any mesh that can not trace inheritance to the aurora base object will not get exported from gmax. For simple models you can just link all your meshes to the aurora base object.
