Why give players only the tip of the iceberg as far as gaming possibilities? The developers have modeled so many characters yet when you play you only play as 4 factions.

 

What a about a mod which focused on using these nonplayable but in a realistic fashion?

Theed: Droids (minus super) versus playable elite guard. Like what they're showing you under historical combat but 2 sided not 1.

Plains: Droids (again without super) versus Gungans. There are already a couple Gungan variants which could be used.

Endor: Add a 6th class so that Rebels could, if they wanted, play as Ewoks.

Geonosis: Make the Geonosians playable so that they're the counterpart to the clone jettrooper.

 

Ideally a 6th class on each map would be the best but I think unlocking and using some of those forementioned nonplayables would be a good step. Tweaking weapons, armor and vehicles would be the next step.

 

Ultimately take the 90% of the arcade-like nature out of the game and you've got a great mod.

 

Now all Pandemic needs to do is expand the sky box on every map to make flying worthwhile.

the only thing there that is currently possible is the droids vs guard, but even then, you would still have to include the super battledroid, as tha battledroid's tag is too long to put in over any of the droids.

 

past that, you will have to wait until we get modding tools from Pandemic. Which we will, get, as it has been confirmed by a dev (thank you, psych0fred)

some of the stuff u suggested has already been done (by me and others) for instance, ive made it so that geonosians are playable, and so are gungans, and ewoks, check some of the other posts for downloads, at the moment its just replacing other units with the local units. but as bannon said, we should wait until the tools are released before we know the full extent of our modding capabilities.

Regarding Sky box and flyers flying anywhere. This is also done: Guru's Unlimited fly, my expended maps, or if you want to do it your self it is not hard:

 

Load level in Hex. Look for "boundary" and change it to "xoundary" and that is it! Depending of level you may also change Jungle to Xundgle (4-5 of them per level) and BARR to XARR (hunderds of them so use Find/Replace). I made a totorial for this and I just relaized I did not make a thread about it here....
