Cloud333
I have bin looking around this forum for some time now and I used T7nowhere's tutorial on editting helpers for Revans cutscene robes. However when I put the robes in the overide (n_darthrevan.mdl n_darthrevan.mdx) and use them in the game through the hl disgiuse from holowan mod I get a blank screen with a bullet in the middle of it. Also if I switch party characters the one wearing the robes is invisible. My question is: is there some type of procedure for importing models when you want to overide the original model, or just what exactly am I doing wrong? T7nowhere
It sounds like you have a corrupt model. Did you hit reset xform before exporting the model? If you did then try it again without using reset xform. Also were the original mdl and mdx in the same folder as the exported ascii.mdl when you compiled the ascii.mdl I have also seen this happen when trying to use a custom shader. Cloud333
I didnt hit xform and the mdx and mdl were in the same folder when I compiled them, also I didnt use any custom shaders. The only thing I did was add the helpers and exported. Though I think your right the model is currupt some how, when I read it again with mdlops it said "negative length". I just remade it fresh from the start just in case but its still not working. Any ideas?
T7nowhere
Are you following the tutorial exactly? hmm. I'm not sure what else could be the problem, the worst that I ever got was a mutant revan, but that was due to some things other things I tried. Make sure you convert the original model to ascii with MDLops NOT KotOR tool, then import into gmax.
Cloud333
Ahah! Finally figured out why it was being messed up.. turns out I had another previous export of the same mdl file in the folder when I tried to write it with mdlops. Ahh two hours of bashing my head on the wall and only now did I relize. The camera angles are working fine now, but the model has no animations (I imported it with geom only, did I miss something or does that apply to only guns and stuff?). Btw thx for all your help T7
T7nowhere
hmm. I'm not sure if it would matter or wether or not I imported the model with animations I think I did, BUT I'm certain I exported geom only. Is the model stiff, with his arms sticking out like it does in gmax. if thats the case are you sure you didn't hit reset xform at some point while editing the model. Cloud333
Yea im sure, since its such a small process adding the helpers I never really saved. So each time I remade them it was a fresh new model. Heres what I did anyways maybe you can tell me where I went wrong. Imported Geom only, added the helpers (like in the tutorial with the clone one at the buttom and everything), then right after that I clicked export all, then compile exported model, then export geom only. Im pritty new at this so I wouldent be surprised if I messed up somewhere.

Oh and make sure the compile box next to export geom only is NOT checked. Edit: oh and don't worry about making mistakes. We all do
