Guest Rogue15 Posted June 22, 2001 Share Posted June 22, 2001 Well, i don't need help, my dad does. He can usually get to Target area 3, but then gets vaped by the assault shuttles. I don't think he wants to use a mission skip either. So, what is he supposed to do, attack the assault shuttles and get vaped anyways? I think i skipped this mission my first time through xwing alliance because it was annoying the crap out of me. My second time through though, i beat it. Guest garyah99 Posted June 22, 2001 Share Posted June 22, 2001 What I usually do is load up on torps and fire 4 at selected containers (you can target them from a fair distance). When my supply of torps is used up I hyper back to the Defiance and reload. Rinse and repeat until you destroy the required 25%. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I always hit one container per chain than I continue with the other chain an soon until all container chains in "waiting for boarding" status and let the rest of the fleet hyperspace. It should be enough for 25%. I always get at least 70% from the whole convoy. But remember, always do some evasive manouvers .. If you do everything right, you don't even need to rearmed, I only need 10 torpedos. The best way to do it, getting the highest score and wiping out the whole convoy, is to lauch all ten torps at on shuttle, then link you laser cannons and shred the next one. DON'T try to evade their fire, just press home your attack. After that it's simple, just avoid the LFRGs and get the convoy!! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest ACEJim Posted July 7, 2001 Share Posted July 7, 2001 It does work... the first ASHU can't destroy all the torpedos fired at it, and the second one will always turn away once it starts taking damage... you end up with hull damage and about 10% sheilds but I can do it every time. After you destroy the Crusier, and if you feel like taking out the SUNs, take the Hyper bouy to the next location. As soon as you can hyper back to the Defiance and re-load. When you get the message "Great, the convoy is minutes away from the Hyper point" that means your wingmate has hypered in. Now, hyper to the Convy and for some reason the A/S will not target you. They will just travel along with the other ships and IGNORE YOU. I was able to destroy 100% of the convoy. Got a message from my wingmate that said "WOW, i never saw anyone destroy the convoy before. It's some time since I played that mission, but it whent something like this: First I use my torpedos to take out the assault shuttles. Of course I have to fire them manually, because otherwise they get shot down. When the shuttles are out (I had to help with my lasers and ions of course), I target what's nearest to the jump point, and either disable it or shoot off its engines. Then with the whole convoy immobile (including the escorts) it's easy pickings, and I can reload at my leisure. And by the way. I hate the wingman in this mission.
