Criminal Violence Against Judicial Figures

With the recent killings of Chicago Judge Lefko's family, where the alleged killer was disgruntaled after the Judge didn't rule in his favor and today's news that a Judge, a courtreporter, and two others were the targets of a killer charged with rape, a certain amount of citizen and governmental backlash has to be expected.

My question is what will that backlash be? Will it be legislation against firearms? Increased security at courthouses and residences of judicial figures?

A possibility is the more lenient attitude of judges to defendents, but I don't think so. This seems remote.

Judges aren't the only targets of dissatisfied defendents, in Tyler, TX a man opened fire with an AK-47 at the courthouse, killing his estranged wife, a bystander, and injuring his son before police nailed him on the highway.

Usuallt when there is any sort of backlash it is against the wrong target, often the one least able to defend itself.

It won't be against guns (which are never involved in ANY of these fatal shootings).

I'm not sure two cases make a trend though...
