Lettuce
I was wondering how exactly can you use the savegame tool or KOTOR tool for the Xbox version of KOTOR1&2. I tried searching to find out how but nothing I saw actually explained anything. All I found were posts saying that it was possible to use mods and the savegame tool for xbox. I was just wondering if some very kind person would tell me how I would go about doing this. Oh forgot to mention I am using action replay to get the saves to my pc because I dont have a modded xbox. Boba Rhett
I've never actually done it but from what I understand, you can get the files onto a non modded xbox but they're there for good. I'm sure someone will be along shortly to give you an answer in full detail.
Lettuce
I found what I was looking for and incase anyone else is curious here's a nice little tutroial I copied and pasted from the KSE ver2.20 zip file(I didnt see this in the newer version). Woohoo edit nuber two. Anyway I found out what I did wrong with the acton replay saves instead of making a new rar file I just replaced the old save file in the orginal AR rar file with the edited one. Using KotOR Savegame Editor with Xbox Saves -------------------------------------------- This readme file assumes you have a modded Xbox and can move files to and from your Xbox hard drive. KSE provides limited editing Xbox savegames. At this time, adding and deleting of Feats/Classes/Force Powers/Inventory is not supported. However, the following fields should work: Supported Fields ---------------- - Savegame Name - Player Name - Gender (PC, NPC) - Appearance (PC, NPC) - Portrait (PC, NPC) - Soundset (PC, NPC) - Attributes (PC, NPC) - Global Variables - Time Played - Cheat Used flag - Min1HP - Experience (PC, Party) - Good/Evil alignment (PC, NPC) - Skills (PC, NPC) - Credits - Inventory stack (you can change the quantity of an existing that you have) Steps in using KSE with Xbox saves 1) Create a 'SWKOTOR' directory on your PC. Create two subdirecotries called 'saves' and a 'data'. If you already have the PC version installed, this step is not necessary. You should have a file structure like this: \SWKOTOR\ \SWKOTOR\saves\ \SWKOTOR\data\ 2) On your Xbox, your savegames are located in a directory structure like this: \UDATA\4c410003\...\000001 - Slot1\ (the last folder varies depending on which savegame slot you are choosing to edit) Copy the folder 000001 - Slot1 to your \SWKOTOR\saves\ directory on your PC. Do this for any other savegame you wish to edit. (If you have the PC version, you may want to take precautions not to overwrite your PC savegames when doing this.) The following three steps are not necessary if you have the PC version installed. 3) Copy the chitin.key file from your Xbox to the \SWKOTOR\ directory. 4) Copy the dialog.tlk file from you Xbox to the \SWKOTOR\ directory. 5) Copy the templates.bif file from your Xbox to the \SWKOTOR\data\ directory. 6) Open up KSE on your PC. If you have the PC version, KSE will autodetect the SWKOTOR folder. Otherwise, you will have to browse to it. 7) Once you have pointed KSE to the SWKOTOR folder, you can edit your savegame. When you have made a change, click Apply followed by Commit Changes. The following .sig files will be created: - SAVE_HEADERVAR.sig - SAVE_DATA.sig - SAVE_INFO.sig - SAVE_PARTY.sig - SAVE_VARS.sig - Screen.sig 8) When you are all done editing your savegame, close KSE. Transfer the files back to your Xbox in the original folder. Your SAVE_HEADER.sig file from your original savegame folder should remain unchanged. P.S. I was wondering if anyone could gvie me a copy of the chitin.key,dialog.tlk and the templates.bif files for KOTOR1 because I dont have KOTOR 1 for pc and my xbox isnt modded. Zer0DazE
you might want to check the readme on the new version of KSE. i can pull those files you need off my xbox and host them for you later on today, but you will have to catch me on AIM and remind me. i promise you, i will forget. Lettuce
I know that in the new version of KSE it says it doestnt support x-box saves but I used a TSL editted save and it worked fine, unless of course I somehow managed to use the wrong save file again. I'll try to reach you on aim later after I get back from work.
ChuckX8oD
i can use KSE to edit xbox games games, pretty much in all teh catagories u listed. But when ever i use it to change Names, the game becomes corrupt. SO keep that in mind.
