phasmatis
Hello, I was wondering if it's actually possible to make completely new planets for Kotor2? The modelling side of things isn't problem, it's getting it into the game I would like to know about mostly. I have tried modding Kotor2 by creating a recruit mod but I found it very limiting when it came to spawning the character and setting triggers and stuff, which is why I would like to create a small planet map of which I would have full control. T7nowhere
So far new Area maps are not possible, that is not to say that its not somehow possible by using our current tools just that noone has yet figured it out. Your completly welome to try though. If you want a sorta new area to work with you could reuse the current area maps. this has been done a few times and the mods were pretty good. Although Personally I would prefer to build a new map myself instead of reuseing game maps. If you know your way around max then you should DownLoad Mdlops which will allow you to convert the binary models to ascii and visa versa although it does have limitations. no animations and so far no area maps. To import the ascii into max you will need this plug-inNWmax
phasmatis
Ahhh I see, well I'm only doing it for fun so I'll give it a go and if I can't do it, I can't do it. What do you mean by area maps? I've managed to export the first part of Nar shaddaa (the landing pad) and imported it into Max, everything seems to be correct but I've only been looking into it since this morning. Anyway thanks for the info.
T7nowhere
what I mean by area maps is the models for modules. Importing area models is easy making changes to them and recompiling is not.
Doom_Dealer
Try taking a look at this: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=130451 the tutorial is for Kotor 1 but it can easily be used for Kotor 2 aswell.
