Battle 4 Mission 1 Help!!!

I have been stuck on this mission for a while now. I have no problem with the first half (raiding the Viraxo and protecting the transports, etc.) My problem is when I hyper to the Rebel astroid base and encounter the 4 supafighters I get wasted. It doesn't matter what my shield strength is at or whether I'm in the gun turret or piloting. They just eat through my shields.

I've never had this much trouble from something that should be really easy. I'm sure it's something simple that I'm missing but I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

Avoid a H2H situation. There's 4 of them and you're on your own. You'll probably lose much of your shields when you try this. Instead, try to fly in another "attack-angle" and let the autofire do the job. Don't let one of them get onto your tail in the dogfight that follows and you should be alright.

Practicing this situation in the combat simulator and exploring the best tactics will help too. (it takes less time than playing the same mission over and over again)

When your flying a CORT, you never need to go in a H2H sitiation. Remember, the computer AI cannot do Deflection shooting very well, so in a CORT i tend to Yaw the craft enought so that they are barely in view. then, after the pass, i start following them around, i almsot never use the frot guns (i direct the enrgy to shilds, or make the craft go faster)

Thanks for the assist! I poured all my lasers into the engines and ran to the asteroid base. Then I bobbed in and out of the rebel ships and let the automatic guns take care of the ships. I knew it was something simple. Thanks again.
