noob question about what files to extract

ok I'm looking to make the handmainden apperiance files override some of the female pc files and don't know what to name them and which files to extract can someone point me in the right direction

If you mean the Handmaidens standard white hooded outfit, they are:

 

P_HandmaidenBB.mdl

P_HandmaidenBB.mdx

P_HandmaidenA.tpc (light/neutral texture)

P_HandmadenAD01.tpc (darkside texture)

 

Be warned however that this model includes the Handmaiden's head. If you want to make it useful for other characters you'd have to remove the head from the model, or it will look rather strange.

 

Then you'd have to put your modified model in the bodyvar slot of the mody model whose appearance you wish to replace for all appearance types (in appearance.2da) you want to use it, like maverick187 described in the above linked post.
