So many questions, so little time

I'm currently making a new lightsaber (just properties, no new models, still trying to figure modeling out), and a new crystal, but I'm having trouble with the crystal, because I don't know how to give it effects so it can alter the lightsaber properties (e.g.: regeneration, +3 Defence, that kind of thing), if there's a part in Achilles tutorial on how to do it, the copy I have must be incomplete, if not, how do I do it?

The color crystal does nothing itself... think of the crystal .uti file as the "key" that unlocks your new saber... provided you have an upcrystals.2da entry for it that is. ;)

All the sabers base attributes and bonuses are placed in the sabers .uti file.

I hope this helps! :D

Er...either I don't understand the answer properly, or I wasn't specific enough with my question. Either way, I'll ask in a different way. I mean, with upgrade crystals like Upari (Doubles critical threat range when the critical strike feat is used. Does an extra 2 damage when the power attack feat is used) and the Luxum (Does an extra 3 damage when the power attack feat is used), which add properties to the lightsaber. I looked at one of them and a colour crystal in a GFF editor, but couldn't find any difference or any hint on how to make the upgrade crystals, well, upgrade.

Does my question make more sense now?

This is not done in the item template, but in the upgrade.2da file. You set the template column to the ResRef of your crystal template (UTI file), and the upgradetype column determines what kind of upgrade it is. Set that column to 0 to make it a lightsaber upgrade crystal.

You then add the properties the crystal should grant the saber when used to the UTI template of the crystal, just like you add properties to any other item. The game will then transfer those properties to the saber when you plug in the crystal.

Assuming this is for K2:TSL, that is. The way lightsaber upgrades work differs greatly in TSL from the first KotOR.
