Sick of perpsosterous rules and regulations put up by Imperial and Rebel Groups? Getting teased on the Zone for being an Indie??? Wish you could find some people some place that just thought like you?

Would you join a group if you could fly a Correllian Transport? Wish you could then go off and slash through a bunch of enemies either on the ground or in space?

Well head on over to Knight Watch, http://www.geocities.com/knight_watch_2000/ .

All abilities of players welcome. We support both JK and XWA. We're loose and informal, but always active chatting online, gaming or posting on our message board.

Email paul if you have any further questions.

It makes me so sad to hear about ability wasted. If you ever consider actually flying a worthy craft, the New Republic is here for you.

Please, I'm so sick about hearing how one is just and right and the other isn't. There are not just 2 options. We're gray. Neither Black, nor White.

Besides, as a Reb/Republic group your craft are limited to X-wing, Y-wing, A-Wing, and B-Wing. As an Imp/Remenant you're limited to TIES (of all kind), Gun Boats, and Missile Boats.

Choices predominate us. Corts, Firesprays, PES, R41's, IRD's, Planetary Fighters, Cloakships, Blastboats, plus the so called Black and White sides craft.

Limited, I think not. More open minded is more like it.

I think youll find any squad on the zone will allow their pilots to fly the craft of THEIR choice... whether the squad is imp or reb or whatever

That's not the arguement. I agree with the philosophy if the ship and it's armament are agreed to on the Zone, it's all fair and legal.

I'm just sick of the philosphy of "gotta be a Rebel or got a be an Imperial" (time frame variable). There are never just 2 choices in life. You've limited yourself (and your mental capacity) if that's what you believe/think.

We're for allowing group members to choose from a bit broader base as far as role playing/fiction aspects go.

The rebel pilot seemed to imply that his ships that his group supports are the only ones of merrit/fun to use. I tend to disagree.

I jsut tell my squadmates to stay away from non-shilded craft, and i encourge them to learn how to fly as many differnet craft as possible. If you got 2 good or equal pilots flying non-shielded craft, usually the person with the less lag will win. Which makes it kinda silly.

We're looking for people to fill out our defensive/offensive fleets. We also have a few Correllian Transport positions available.

We also are in the process of figuring out how to incorporate Tribes into our group.

We already have a pretty easy cross over between JK and XWA.

Check us out below.

I will be busy moving the next week or so. But if any one is interested in Knight Watch, please email and i'll try to get back to you ASAP. You can alternatively email KW Members Revenant, JC or Knighthawk for info about us. Talk to Strike Eagle if you want tribes info.

An No we are no longer Allies with the GSS.

Again, The KW is looking for members of all ability levels. We want to basicly train/play together to make ourselves better and enjoy the game.

We are independent group free from the singleminded philosophy of gotta be a rebel gotta be an imperial.

besides XWA, we also incorporate Jedi Knight and Tribes. Most of all we are fun to be with, most of us are online daily via ICQ and almost all the members say they read our message board when they come online.

besides, all theses groups just deny themselves of the fun of flying Correllian Transports (the real selling point of the game). We don't.

You listen to the Monkey. KW is a cool group and the best part, you can be who you like. Our independance means i can get my ass kicked in my Firespray, but i don't care, beacause i ENJOY playing within this group. The 'faction' groups tie you down too much with restrictions on what you can and can't be/do.

We don't exactly have a chain of command but there are senior players who are acknowledged and highly respected. We don't place crappy 'commands' to people just because they were the first to join up.

All in all, we are an honest group who simply enjoy XWA without having restrictions and other cak.

Be who you want to be, JOIN NOW.

Okay, i am starting to take offense

Most grousp do fermly stay in thier alignment. Al ot of the have Black Squadrons (Rebels who want to fly Imp craft) Pheonix style squads (Imps who want to fly Rebel craft) or Shadow squads (Anyone can fly anything) the only reason to stick to rebel, or Imp ships if for storyline. many member wil have thier "personal craft" which can be anyhting, and a "Group Craft" which can be almsot anyhting

Ranks, and command are givin for ORGINIZATION

There is nothing worse then joining a group, and then finind no one to play in the group, or, not even being able to caontact anyone.

the N.R.E.S. prides itself by teaching the pilots how to use EVERY craft, and use them well. From Pinhooks, to TIE defenders, to even the NCA craft uglies.

also, certain ppl have command becasue they can get things done, and help motivate to get ppl to play more

Training, Freindship, and loyalty join the N.R.E.S. tongue.gifwink.gif

Actually, from what i've seen of this forum most people post that they offer commands for ppl who join up first. The people who take them haven't earnt them.

If you employ a ranking system then enevitably you get people who are unhappy with their position and higher 'ranked' people abusing their power. In the end,you don't get the ppl with real leadership qualities leading, just those who suck up and back stab the most. At KW we let people get on with it. Nobody is seen as higher than anyone (except the Monkey of course) but the senior ppl are more respected. That way others don't feel hard done by.

For equal oppertunity and the chance not to be kicked around by stuck up pr*cks for leaders join the Knight Watch.

I would add that i'll tear you a new ******* 'cept i'd most likely lose.

Ahem, they are not pricks. some of them are my best frinds, and if a member does get beaten, we tell them exactly why, so that they can get better.

Rank is based on skill, merit, and character. And to motivate players to get better, we crete testing, and a rank structure.

There is nothing more boring them coutless mindless, unmotivated batttle, each player and member learns to work as a team to better the group. Everyone helps everyone else out, regarless of rank, or skill.

People who give command postison out at the start, are usually jsut froming up, and need a core base of playters to get it running. There has to be a start somewhere. that is jsut the way they choose to do it.

If someone abusise their "rank" they are warned, and later kicked out. And it has never happened, because everyone has earned thier rank.

stop bad mouthing other groups. it iwll only make ppl not like your group more

Everyone does it differnetly for differant reasons. You can see what works, by the size of the group. and member loyalty.

for all those harping about our lack of formal command and ranks, get over it. That's how a corporation works. One person, the CEO is in charge. I assiagn tasks based off my people's ability. That's why i stress we are a community. If i don't know you or can't trust you, you won't be doing much more than showing up for meetings and playing matches. There is no decentralization in descions. If i want something done, I'll do it myself. I don't have to tell anyone else to do it. the KWer's may *****, and enough of them do, I'll listen. This is how the universe works (both star wars and real), one boss, many workers. Each with their own task.

Let's talk what ifs here for a while. There are aproximately one million inhabited worlds (with colonies and moons etc) in the star wars universe. Let's say they average about 6 billion people each (earth's population giver or take--and that accounts for a world like yavin having 100 or so people and a world like Coruscant having aproximate 40-60 billion). Now, only about 1 billion or so are in the New Republic Military with aproximately 250million in the Imperial Remenant. What do the other 6 trillion or so beings do??? They work!!! The couldn't give a rats ass if you're a commander, ensign or general. We represent a greater portion of the Star Wars Universe than you do. An inter-planetary shipping company is a necesity in this environment. Millitary forces are a luxury. Even then, most planetary systems have their own defense forces (as do us shippers) because you are ineffectual and off playing soldier somewhere. done hypothesizing.

If you talk to us while online, post on the message board, etc. I get to know who you are and see what you are capable of. By not having a rank, I force you to engage in the group. If we had a rank, would my members know about me? Would i truely know about them? No, of course not. It encourages openness, creativity and willingness to listen to suggestions that <GASP!!!!> may be better than the "command staffs".

By having ranks (trust me i've been in a few groups where they have been) you have a bunch of drones who do what is told in order to stay active in the group or to get the next rank. Only the most outstanding members do things that my newest member will do. Where is the personal growth on any level in that? If you want to play solider, join the real military. Than you can salute all day, train till you drop, and get up and do the same thing over and over again. You should not have to type <salute> every time some one comes online. (oh an to be realistic, if you played soldier for real in the Star Wars Universe, most of what you'd do would be convoy and inspection duty).

I would also like to add, by what right do you have to complain about the organization of another group? It works for our group and the type of people we attract (which mostly find it refreshing that we aren't a military group).

Also, according your narrow definition of what a Star Wars group (or at least XWA one) should be, Characters like Talon Karrde, Mara Jade, Booster Terrik, Early stories about Han Solo and Chewbacca, and Lando Calrisian etc would not be true Star Wars because they aren't part of the millitary. Most of the Expanded Universe Exploits of Luke Skywalker wouldn't be considered true star Wars either because he's no longer part of the military (hell the jedi order has less structure than we do). Guess what, I consider Luke, Han, Chewie (rest his soul), Lando, Karrde, Booster, Mirax, and Mara more Star Wars than most things. (I'm not saying Wedge, Tycho aren't, but they haven't played as big a part until recently and actually one whole book in their series they technically weren't part of the millitary).

join knightwatch, we play when ever we can and we have a good laugh. To anyone who thinks that indie groups should not exist- get a life, as the monkey said it's nothing to do with you how we run our group or what sort of group it is, and if you read the books/watch the films (from your objections about our group it doesn't look like you have) what we're doing is true to the spirit of the films + books.
