Dlg editor animations problem

Anyone know why i can't get my animations to work. here is what i have..

 

c:\..directory to path of file\filename.dlg

so, we finaly meet jedi.

(continue)

I think i will kill you myself instead of turning you over to my master

....

down bellow on the part that says "i think i will kill you..."

speaker Kesh

listener owner

 

further down i drag and drop into the current animations box and set

pertisipant as owner and select 1020_approach-choke. now when i save this dlg she says all the lines but never walks up to me and chokes me or chokes me if im close enough. any suggestions? thanks.

 

also if i repoen the dlg file in the current animations box all it says is [owner] and not the rest of the words.

this still isn't working. if i apply the animation to the npc it works but when i try to add it to the player it doesn't

 

*choking* (players line and down bellow for this line everything is empty exept current animation witch is 10150_choke witch works for the npc.

anyone got any ideas?

The choke animation 10150 works for the PC as well. Did you use PLAYER as participent?

I had the same problem with 1024 and 1026 a while ago. DLGEditor only added the participent, not the animation number. Use a GFFEditor if you want to play animation 1020.

should i add the choke and drop_choking to the players lines or to the npc's lines? or does it matter? because somereason its still not working but now i chose ones that say the full thing and not just [player]

also besides what you said to do i am putting in speaker:kesh listner:player

oops, i spelled Player with cap P does that make a difference?

Put them in the npc nodes. You must use PLAYER as the participant's tag, not player.

You only need to put tags in these fields if they are different from these default values. The owner of the dialogue default speaker. If it is Kesh you can leave that field empty. Normally, the PC is the default listener.

im trying to choke the pc (done)

and then drop them choking (does that)

but it won't stay down. like i want the pc to drop for 15 seconds then get back up. how do i do that?

There are animations that show characters lying or cowering on the ground. The ones I know are 10006, 1412 and 1428, but I guess there are others as well. An animation will only play on the node you added it to. If you want it to continue playing you have to add it to the subsequent entry nodes as well. You can use the delay field so the node and the animation plays longer.
