Adding more colors to a custom saber hilt

I was looking through the tutorials and couldn't find this so... How do you add more saber colors to a custom hilt? Do you just extract the texture and reanme it to match to the new hilt or somthing? No Idea total noobie. I also want to add custom stats to the saber and need to no where to find and how to edit the uti.
