JediMaster12
While a say a squad is a group of soldiers led by one leader, they are composed of individuals. However when you have a strict hierarchy like a military hierarchy, there tends to be some semblance of order. If the leader goes down the next high ranking officer takes command. In a group individuals do tend to have some influence but ultimately if it is a squad, the standing order is to follow mission orders. The how and when is usually under the descretion of the CO of the squad. I don't know if that makes sense to the argument going on but I hope that helps. Rogue Warrior
The Jedi are meant to be the model of good and right, but a combination of arrogance and unwillingness to take action makes certain members the Order dislike, Revan, the Exile, stand out and those who don't allow some code to prevent them from doing what they know is right better than the Jedi.
