Caveman cant count so we dont we dont know the year from the begining of time to Christ was born.We started keeping count when Christ died calling it (AD after death)and we count it from here.So its 2000 years since Christ died.BC started when Christ died. You can tell if you subtract the age of Christ's death.Thats how I think how it goes.

sorry, encyclopedia brown. AD stands for Anno Domini which means Year of Our Lord. And you've never heard of BC (before Christ)?

Actually, a convincing argument could be made that the new millenium actually started on March 25, 2000. That was the official date for the new year for centuries, including when that Dionysis guy calculated the time since Jesus' birth.

Quite frankly, I think we should still be celebrating the new year on March 25 as the date is much more important than January 1.
